The Kenmore Magic Blue vacuum is an amazing little guy. I bought this vacuum 2 years ago. I have owned some top of the line canister vacuums including an Oreck and a Miele, but my budget was a bit tight so I chose the Kenmore Magic Blue. It surpassed all my expectations. In truth, I like it as well, if not better, then those far more expensive brands.

Positives: It is a very reasonably priced, small canister vacuum. It is light and easy to use, but it has plenty of power. My favorite feature is the power slide on the handle. You can turn the vacuum on or off without bending down to the canister. This is particularly helpful when you are up on a latter doing drapes or a ceiling fan. The bags are easy to change. The hard floor and carpet attachments are great. The extendable handle is easy to use.

Negatives: The crevice tool/dusting brush isn't fantastic, and the power cord could be a little longer. Also, the button you have to press in to change the attachments is small and stiff;...

Magic Blue canister vacuum cleaner is amazing. Has so much power packed into such a little bundle that weighs under 10 lbs. If I had to pick the one feature that is the best of this little power horse, it would be the ability to change the suction power by simply pushing the control on the handle by your thumb, for the different naps of your throw rugs or carpet. You no longer have to stand on the edge of your throw rug to keep it from being sucked up into the head of your vacuum. I have all wood floors with throw rugs and area rugs. This vacuum cleaner has the most suction of any canister I have ever found. It rolls around behind me with ease, has a long extension cord, upholstery and crevice tools onboard, and indicator light to let you know when you bag is full, 2 heads- one carpet head with rotating brush, one wood, tile or vinyl floor head. The handle has an extension that is easy to manuever for what ever length you need and the hose is high quality and will not tear...

I bought this vacuum because I wanted a canister style vacuum with an attachment. I have hard floors and I have cats. The cat litter and cat hair is always on the floor. This vacuum picks up both easily. The vacuum bags hold a lot even though they appear small. I purchased this vacuum during Thanksgiving on one of those early bird specials and I have never been happier with any vacuum purchase than with this one. I had been using a wet-dry vac to vacuum my house prior and this just made it a lot easier to pull out and do a quick job. It does pretty good on rugs also....

If you want a vacuum that works well and is designed well, don't try to save money and get this canister. The tools are a pain to put on and take off and the want is too long for up close cleaning....

The Magic Blue was the first canister vacuum I've ever purchased. I like the versatility of it, and how lightweight it is for carrying up stairs. Generally, the Magic Blue has good suction. The filter needs to be kept clean to keep that suction going and the filter needs cleaning fairly often. The canister itself is small, which makes it hard to change the bag, but I do generally like the machine. ...

I like this little vacuum! The Kenmore Magic Blue is a nice, lightweight, handy, easy to use canister vac. Even my 7 year old can use it, and he does! He actually LIKES to vacuum with this little powerhouse because it's so easy to use! Good power for such a little machine, easy to store, easy to change the bags. The only drawback would be that we go through a bag every two weeks because they're small. We have pets, so even though no one would EVER think to call me a neat freak, we still vacuum quite a bit, so we go through bags....
