For years, my old dishwasher sounded like a hurricane that would reverberate in the kitchen, the family room, and even the basement. After recently remodeling my home, we installed the Kenmore Elite dishwasher. And the difference is enormous. This dishwasher is so quiet; I can watch television in the family room without having the volume at full blast. The only annoying thing is if you turn the "alert" option on for when the dishes are done, the machine will beep incessantly until you get up and open the dishwasher. So I would recommend turning it off because it's very annoying when, say, you're giving your kids a bath and the dishwasher won't stop beeping. Nevertheless, this is a wonderful dishwasher: no water spots, efficient use of water, spacious interior. The sleek stainless steel exterior is contemporary yet classic. And I love how I can put really dirty dishes in there and they always come out clean. I am very impressed!

We have had our Sears Kenmore Elit dishwasher for a little over 1 year---it was bought last year. I had to call for service twice already because of problems with it. The last time the serviceman came out, the dishwasher just stopped working and a green light on the door keeps flashing. He diagnosed that the main pump went out. He had to order a new one with entire housing assembly and it will take anywhere between 3 to 7 days. Meanwhile we're expected to wash our dishes by hand. Why have a dishwasher?

To have the main pump go out in only about a year of service, I call that a junky dishwasher. In all due candor, I could never recommend the Sears Kenmore Elite dishwasher to anyone.

I was told that Sears will replace our dishwasher if we have 3 service calls within a 12 month period. At the rate we have been going, I can see the 3rd call coming up very soon. Will Sears then replace the dishwasher? I am waiting.

I really like my Kenmore Elite dishwasher. I can't recommend it enough. It's stainless stell front is even nice to look at.

It was purchased as a replacement for a GE dishwasher that was installed by our builder. The old dishwasher failed and flooded our kitchen last summer. Our old dishwasher, like every other GE product we've ever purchased, didn't really work correctly.

We had to choose a new dishwasher quickly, and we were ready to pay for a quality quiet operating product. Our old dishwasher was so noisy that we could hear it running anywhere in the house, even with the doors closed. It was like having a large sanitation truck with the compactor crushing trash operating in our kitchen. And the dishes only got clean occassionally.

The salesperson at our local sears explained the decibel rating for noise on the new dishwasher and compared it to the noise produced by our old dishwasher. The difference on paper was pretty big. The difference in reality is like night...

The first time the repairman cam out and told me it wasn't cleaning the dishes because there were chicken bones, I thought no way... and then told my family to be careful. The second time he came and told me there were chicken bones in the drain, it looked very suspiciously like the same string of bones. Well, it still doen'st clean, and it's finally stopped cleaning altogether.I took it apart- all the areas where water goes through- checked the spray arms etc., nothing was stopped up. What we have been able to glean off the 'net is that when Kenmore made the tall tub elite they scrimped on the motor and pump - way to weak for the size, and they get weaker over time due to the overload. Instead of saying so and perhaps offering a discount on another model , replacing the motor etc. they came up with a scam for their repairmen.

OWN UP KENMORE! We will never buy another Kenmore appliance.

I thought all dishwashers were alike. But once I got my Kenmore Elite, I will never do anything different. I can take a dirty pot with stuff caked on it and it will come out clean! I used to clean my dishes to put them in the dishwasher, now I just take them straight from the table (minus large chunks of food) and put them in the dishwasher....

My daughter first bought this Kenmore Elite dishwasher and when she was so impressed, I bought the same one. It is daunting to look at hundreds of dishwashers and not know which is best. This Turbo wash feature even cleans dried on rice, left for days. I love the stainless steel tub also.

i love my kenmore elite dishwasher. it is a under the counter dishwasher that is black. it does not show any fingermarks. kenmore makes this dishwasher so energy efficent that i do not even here it when it is running. i have no knobs to worry about breaking. the whole system is push button.it has two drawers that wash on the bottom and the top of the dishwasher. capacity is big enough that you can wash pots and pans in it and the heating element inside just knocks the dried up food rite off.one of the great factors is that i can set it to come on at a certain time. load it and forget about it love it. has three removable trays where you can store silverware to wash with out worrying if they will fall thru the racks.i also love that it drains all the water out at a very fast pace and leaves no water sitting in the bottom.one of the main features is that it has three holders for dishwasher soup and no scum buildup.
