Haleyred23 says "Wish I had gotten them sooner!" about Kajeet

I wish we had gotten a kajeet for my teenager before adding him onto our family plan! Unfortunately, we hadn't even heard of kajeet at the time. Now, we are stuck in a contract. :-(

We added our two younger sons onto kajeet (ages 9 and 11). I LOVE everything kajeet offers us as parents. We have totall control. I love how I can set the phones to only accept calls from us or grandma. Of course, I've added friends too, but they are restricted to certain hours of the day. (Not during school or the middle of the night) I love being able to text them to come home from friends houses. I also like being able to find the phone using the GPS capability when they lose it. (Which we HAVE done! lol See photo I've uploaded)

kajeet comes HIGHLY reccomended! I'm telling all the parents I know. Don't make the same mistake I made adding your child onto your family plan. Besides the parental controls kajeet offers, they really are a great deal. It may "appear" cheaper to add...
...

Read alot of opinions and email kajeet a few times before deciding to sign up. Had tmobile pay as you go for a couple years, was spending $26.50 every 3-4 weeks for only ONE phone- got 130 talk/text minutes. Chose the $14.99 plan with kajeet- 60 min/talk + unlimited texting. No daily usage charge with paks. Will spend $5 more for TWO kajeet phones. We like texting more than talking- so this plan works out nicely for us. Customer service has been great so far. Emails back the same/next day. Had to call when activated the phone. Was being charged pay-as-you-go rates instead of the pak i signed up for. I had $15 in the "Wallet" and after sending one text it went down to $4.90! They restored the money that was charged incorrectly and applied the pak for us. The katana is simple- just how i like it. Daughter is getting the lgrumor. Kinda worried about that phone being as lousy as all the reviews say. But that is manufacturer not kajeet. Keeping fingers crossed. Look forward to using the time...
...

joshmom says "Good kids phone to a point. Do your research before/AFTER" about Kajeet

Kajeets advertising is plain and easily understood. With anything else you have to do much research reading many reviews and continue to monitor the phone plans and usage after the phone is installed.

I read many reviews and also noticed that the CEO Mr. Dan Neal did respond to negative ones. Dan seems pretty proactive.

Purchased the phone on Amazon whereby it was on sale, plus you get a rebate for more than the cost of the phone after about 6 months. Seemed fair.

Phone easily set up. The manual is very informative. No problem with initial weekend asking Kajeet Care support with a few basic questions.

Dont bother with emailing your question --- ever. The team doesnt seem to really read your question, and because of that- gives you absolutely nothing new as far as an answer. If you are blunt enough- you will get a second response- mainly to call Kajeet care. Note that this is simply my opinion-- possibly some yes or no answers can be asked this way. My questions...
...

We got this phone for our 12 y/o son a little over a year ago and wouldn't tried it for anything. We are able to put as much money on the phone as we want and when he runs out we don't have to worry about overage charges. I also like the fact that I can restrict the hours he is allowed to use the phone. He is unable to use during school hours and after 9pm. I can't say enough about this phone!!...

Bagl says "Deceptive advertising, but decent product" about Kajeet

I wanted a prepaid phone for my daughters' 13th birthday, and after looking around, and seeing an ad in Good Housekeeping, went to Best Buy and bought a phone by Kajeet. The surprise came after it was too late--a 35 cents a day charge, which you could only find out about at their website--not in the ad, not from the salesperson. I was furious, but could not get a refund for the gift card of minutes I had bought, so kept the phone. I still think their ads are deceptive, but the product itself has been fine. The service has been reliable, no other rude surprises have come up, etc. It works for us because there is no way for her to run up a big bill--if she uses up the money she has pre-paid, no more service... My next daughter is about to turn 13, and I'll shop around again. My resentment over the initial advertising thing may prevent me from getting another Kajeet phone, but to be fair, it hasn't been a bad deal, and it offers lots of options for parents (restrictions on time......

Kajeet Kid Kare!

Kajeet offers a great service to parents that want to keep in touch with their children. You can manage everything online or on the phone if you prefer. You are able to manage their contact list completely. You can add contacts to their list, plus you can prevent them from calling certain contacts. You can check your bill daily and see every incoming and outgoing call. The website is very user friendly, you are able to navigate easily to whatever you are looking for. Customer service has been great as well. We have used a few phone plans and this has by far been the best.
...

This phone plan was created for kids. After realizing that the service, even with the daily charge and per minute costs, is by far, much cheaper than the other service plans we switched. We don't use our phones every day, but it's important to us that we have a phone "just incase". With five children, there's always something that is going to pop up.

You can download and play fun games, music, access the internet and take pictures/video.
...
