Elsbreath says "I'll never buy another make/model of car!!" about KIA Spectra - 2006

In 2006, my husband and I bought a silver, 2006 Kia Spectra. We love this car! It's got enough headroom for my 6'5" husband, enough trunk room for a weekend trip to texas complete with presents for the daughter and grandchild, and enough comfort to never wish I'd flown instead of driving!

The warranty has covered anything and everything that has come up. So far, in three years, we've had a little weather stripping come loose (fixed immediately without an appointment!) and the door on the glove box had a little plastic part break (also fixed immediately without an appointment!). Service happens with a smile, reasonable prices on maintenance, and done promptly.

Gas mileage is the best we've found. It gets about an average of 38 mpg on the highway, and about 30 mpg in town. The only thing we've found wrong with it is fighting with the grown children to let US drive it!!
...

I drive a 50 mile newspaper delivery route 7 days a week. My 2006 Kia Spectra has held up wonderfully, not requiring major repairs, gets 32 mpg highway and city mixed. This is the 4th car I have owned since I started newspaper delivery 7 years ago. The car originally had a 100,000 mile complete warranty. I bought the car used and paid for the same warranty through the dealer that sold it to me. I have not had to use the warranty yet....

kylaerin says "Great Great Car!" about KIA Spectra - 2006

I had to write a review about my car. It is a 2006 KIA Spectra EX. The car was a great value especially as gas prices were rising when I bought it. I get 35+ miles a gallon. This can vary. It is four door and very spacious and comfortable. I have a huge trunk. The safety ratings are also excellent. The only downside to a KIA is that they depreciate in value very quickly. If you are one of those people who like to get a new car each year and sell the old one this is not for you. You will owe more than it is worth and have to take out an additional loan. I can't really figure out why the value depreciates so much. I think that it must be because it is a foreign made car so parts are hard to come by if something does go wrong. My car is going on 50000 miles as I drive a lot and I have had no problems. My cousin has an 02 sportage with well over 100000 miles and has never had any trouble. Most of my family drives KIA now. I would recommend this car especially as a cheap starter car for someone......

jink says "A Kia Convert" about KIA Spectra - 2006

I recently bought my new Kia Spectra. I shopped all the major players.

In the end it was the price and the customer service that won out. The car provided me with what I was looking for. I had actually planned on buying a Mazda or a Honda model with similar design. But those dealers seemed to want to play games, try and sell a woman what she did not want, and were not knowledgeable of their product. The Mazda salesperson told me there were no Mazda 3 hatchbacks, and they had not sold any off their lot. Funny I see them all over town with their name on them. Their mistake is my happiness.

I love my Kia. I am amazed at what I can fit into it. The hatchback is great. Milage is nice with $3/gal gas. Handles well. And they have the best warrenty in the buisness. I would recommend this car to anyone.

...

When I bought my car in Nov of 06 I thought I was making a great choice. Well, in the year that I have had it, I have found otherwise. I hate my car. The only good thing that has come of it, is I can easily put in my son's carseat because it is 4-door, and the gas mileage is fairly good. When having to take my son's stroller with us, it is the only thing that fits in the back, and that barely fits itself, and the stroller is not that big. I gave 20 grand for a vehicle that I can not stand. ...
