A giant remote!! my cousin owns one of these remotes and i want one. im always loosing the remote but if i have a giant remote i bet i wouldn't lose it anymore. it can be programmed to work with any television and it can also be used with your dvd player and VCR. ive seen them in store for about $7.00 and i have seen them in all different colors. ive seen silver, black, clear see through. the buttons are nice and big so you can see them good and you wont be pressing more than one button if you have big fingers. it takes two double A batteries that last a long time. i really want one and they don't cost that much but ive never made it out to go buy one. i think it would be a great gift for my grandmother because she always has trouble pushing the right buttons adn she cant see them very well. so i think if she had a giant remote it wouldn't be such a problem. And i bet she wouldn't lose her remote anymore either.
...

Lulu, one of my little ones, gave me a most unusual Christmas present this past season: "The Sharper Image Smart Universal Jumbo Remote" with Luminescent Touch Pad. It is AWESOME! I admit that I do have the occasional senior moment, and I suspect that is what motivated my Lulu to give me such a BIG (Did I mention it was BIG?) remote controller. This puppy is pretty difficult to lose, and it lights up like Broadway everytime you touch the pad. Yes, I have on occasion used it as a night light in the middle of the night and in the wee hours of the very early morning. It saves me a ment on the utilities, LOL! This little gem was a breeze to program; and it controls up to eight different devices: TV, DVD, VCR, DVR, SAT or CBL, Audio/CD, and AUX 1 & 2. It is also capable pf controlling DVD/TV/DVR Combo Systems. The buttons are extra-large and lighted. It even has an easy to use on-screen navigation key. This remote is so smart it has an easy one touch learn function that will allow......

When I saw this device, I thought it would be great to be able to find my remote (having a 3 yr old that loses the remote). The hardest thing was programming this sucker. I tried over and over again. I finally, figured out how to program my tv (which is a Magnavox...use 062 if you haven't figured it out), now I'm working on my dvd player...a sanyo.

I came online hoping to find some codes for the dvd, to no avail...so I'll keep going until I fall out or lose my mind. I believe its a Chinese ploy to take over the world, one broken remote at a time......BEWARE! We'll all be to tired to defend ourselves because of all the time we take to figure out their products.....later
...

During the month of December I ended up with two of these Jumbo Universal Remote control devices. The remote for our main TV wore out so my husband ran out to Walgreen's for a replacement and brought home a Jumbo. Then my brother got me one for Christmas. Both instances were hilarious to me as I had thought about getting one for my husband but decided against it thinking he'd hate it. And I had seriously considerered getting one for my brother for Christmas.

Anyway, we now have 2 of these Jumbo remotes and I like them. They are huge! Seriously! The one that is beside me as I write this review is about five inches wide, twelve inches tall and maybe three quarters inch thick. It's not the kind of remote that one can hold in one hand and flip channels with ease. It is large, has large buttons, and needs two hands to use. But it works well, was super easy to program for use with our TV, and we never lose it. The only issue I have with it is when my kitten walks over it...
...

bpl82 says "The Jumbo Universal Remote isn't just big in size." about Jumbo - Universal Remote

It certainly is big.... Jumbo is a better word to discribe it. I bought this remote because I was sick and tired of losing both my tv and vcr remotes so I bought it so I won't lose it and you can't lose it even if you tried, unless a few friends pull a prank on you by actually hiding from you. You can program pretty much any tv, vcr, and dvd brand known to man. Even if those brands don't have codes in the manual you can still figure out how to program them. I programed a tv using the jumbo remote for a brand that doesn't exist anymore. Love this remote, however there is always a downside to every great product. Its big, but its too big. You literally have to play hopscotch to change channels, fast forward, rewinds and turn off the system. It only costs $10 so its very reasonable and if you are like me and lose your remotes more often? Then the Jumbo - Universal Remote is the remote for you....

My husband bought two of these more as a joke than anything. I wouldn't trade mine for anything! At 54, I am just starting to have trouble reading. This is amazing. Noo more problems. I had it programed in minutes. I found the code for my cable box but had to search for my mongrel LCD TV. Found it on the second or third try. Not a big deal.

Because itis so big, I keep it next to the bed. If I have to get up in the middle of the night, I turn on the TV and it acts like a night light. (We turn the volume all the way down before we shut it off for the night.

I would definately recommend this.

...

What is the deal with so-called universal remotes that can't program? Ugh! We got this one because it looked neat, but then it wouldn't find our TV. Not manually, not automatically. And it's not my TV... I've since gotten a different remote that works fine.
...

rtoy says "Easy to find and operate" about Jumbo - Universal Remote

This remote was easy to operate and effective at long distances (30 ft or more) . The design was ok but I can't complain because its so big its easy to find. "Our universal cable remote had codes for Yamaha receivers, but none of them worked with the receiver model we just bought. Not wanting to fuss with multiple remotes, we knew this meant that we needed to buy a learning remote.
After reading lots of reviews online, I was ready to buy a Logitech Harmony 670 for $150, but my husband noticed the this one for $20. We loved that it had both a guide and an info button like our cable remote. It also has both on and off buttons, which was very useful since our Yamaha receiver has separate buttons for on and off (as opposed to one power button). Plus, it is a learning remote and it has a macro function that allows it to turn on and off multiple devices with the push of one button and a simple volume function that allows the volume buttons to control the receiver even when the remote is in......

I bought this for my parents as a joke. THEY LOVE IT! It was easy to program and is really easy to use. My mom said she doesn't even have to put on her glasses or turn on a light to use it.

The price was definitely right.

We were able to program the TV, VCR, DVD player and stereo receiver all to be controlled by the one remote and some of the components are kind of old. All of the codes we needed were right in the manual.
...

I never make this item works out. You may spend several hours tryng to make this big unesthetic piece works out and you are going to get only a big headache and a lot of frustration.

I never found the code of my TV and my DVD player. Even the automatic search code feature never worked out. In addition, I tried to get some information about this product and the company which fabricates it and as you can imagine about all these chinese companies which products are cheap,...right I never found any web site or any reference.

After struggling almost two days making this big brick works properly, I went to the store where I purchased and returned it.

...
