I loved this show! It got off to a questionable start and I thought it would be a single season show - didn't see how they'd address some of the issues without having to wrap up the story line - but it kept me sitting down and paying attention to each episode - and I got a kick out of seeing reminders of decades I lived through and things I'd forgotten about. I hope they bring it back...

I honestly don't know exactly what is so appealing to me about this show. It is about a man who one day simply travels back into time and doesn't know how or why. As the show progresses, he realizes that he travels back into time to track someone's life so that he can change it for the better. He comes back to the present once he figures out what he needs to do and does it. The characters are great. It has great plot and story development. The bottom line: I just like it!...

jayjayt says "Too late... Damn!" about Journeyman

Well, sadly, I'm too late. Another great show has bit the dust, with no apparent hope of revival.

Journeyman is/was a great sci-fi/time travel show with, more importantly, wonderful family interactions that were screaming to be explored. Relationships between Dan and his wife Katie were beautifully acted and filmed. The initial disbelief followed by acceptance that Katie showed gave me faith that exceptionally strained relationships can work, if people believe in each other and really, truly love each other. I saw it here.

One might draw a sililarity between Journeyman and another GREAT show, QUANTUM LEAP. Yep, hooked there as well.

I'm not the media's example of a geek: living in my parents basement, eating twinkies and longing for space travel. Geez, I hate that. I'm a professional person, involved in healthcare who hates sports and loves a good drama or comedy (without fart jokes). The term "reality tv" couldn't be further from the truth. A good/great sci-fi show challenges the mind and...
...

This show is excellent. It's kind of a mix between Quantum Leap and Early Edition, but the added intricacies of the family relationships are fascinating. My husband and I both watch this show weekly and are thoroughly entertained. The acting is good, and the plot is even better....

I like this show! I'm a fan of time travel related shows. I don't get to watch too much primetime tv no more, but the last show that I liked, and just so happens that Moon Bloodgood was in it too!, was "Day Break" and that show ended disappointingly. I believe that the reviews for "Journeyman" were saying that it may not make it? I sure hope that they're wrong!...

This is another show that I didn't want to see when I saw the commercials for it.What an idiot!I am glad that my husband had me watch it with him. From the first episode I was hooked-I would sit there getting nervous that he would get caught. His brother drives me crazy though! One of my favorite episodes was when his son saw him disappear.I am surprised that this is a show that I got into-it's not what I would normally watch but I am so glad that I did.I hope it sticks around for a while-the ideas for storylines is endless with this show!!...

My 13 y/o son and I watch this show every week. He is more addicted than I am but I do think it one of the better new shows. I'm not a sci-fi fan but this show is really great. The idea of him going back in time to help people is a wonderful concept. I also love how his wife accepts what he does but shows her vulnerability in being alone when he takes off and having to make excuses for him. I wonder every week if Dan will tell his brother what is going on and how he will react, considering he thinks Dan needs help. A great show for any tv watcher....

I was on the edge of my seat when the journey man disappeared and his little boy was left alone! Every parent could relate to that episode. Time travel is one of my favorite topics in sci-fi, and this one is so odd, since nobody seems to be aware of WHY it is happening.
Can't wait for more.
...

ruthmim says "NBC's Journeyman stimulates senses & emotions" about Journeyman

I am loving NBC's Journeyman starring Kevin McKidd. I started watching because McKidd was magnetic in HBO's Rome, so I gave Journeyman a try. It also works for our schedule because it's on after Heroes.

Journeyman is about Dan, a guy in San Francisco -- married, 1 kid -- who starts popping in and out of the present day. Sometimes he sees his ex-fiancee, Olivia, an exotic gal who disappeared from existence right before they were to be married. He seems to have a mission to help people who are in really sticky, potentially life-threatening situations.

Enough about the show -- McKidd is hot! And he's a great actor, as well.

This first season of the show has been really interesting, thanks in part to great writing and producing by at least one person associated with one of my all-time favorite shows, NYPD Blue. Blue was an awesome show, fraught with conflict, both personal and interpersonal. Much of that is present in Journeyman as well.

Now, why is Dan popping in and out of his own time? We don't......

I was not totally sure I would watch this show when it came out this year. I have Tivo and a DVR so I recorded it. I am so glad I did!!

I think this is a great show. I am not really a sci-fi lover, but this is not a sci-fi in a traditional way. It has great relationships, has a weekly story plus a few ongoing story lines to keep in interesting. The relationships seem very real and are as what could be expected if this was real.

I really hope this show makes it, so get out there and watch, you won't be dissapointed!
...

renfield1969 says "A good actor for any time period" about Journeyman

I love the actor, having enjoyed his role on HBO's "Rome". I like science fiction, but he was the reason I started watching this. I'm not wild about any series whose explanations for strange happenings are "just cuz" (remember Quantum Leap?), but the main character adapts and reacts well to the punches time travel throws at him. What is disconcerting is that he and his wife are not treating this like a disease. Modern sensibility dictates that if you are prone to seizures you do not drive a vehicle and you do not go anywhere unattended, particularly while you are minding your child. Guess what happens in the first couple of episodes? While there are hints that explanations are forthcoming, it does seem that the writers really want to overcomplicate his life by purposefully ignoring simple things. If you can ignore the grating plot elements driven by the character's wife and brother, you'll be treated to a good show....

Some of my friends have said this shows a lot like quantum leap (pardon any misspelt words). but i think its a show of its own, on its own premise. i love the idea of people traveling in time, and hope that this show has a chance to progress to a point where some more details are explained and hopefully where the main character gets more answers and maybe even gets to try and control his 'ability'....

roserighter says "Superman meets Back to the Future." about Journeyman

Journeyman is NBC's new fall hit and I love it! Time travel seems to be explored a lot lately in books, movies and TV, but Journeyman is an interesting twist on the topic.

The Gist of Journeyman

The main character of Journeyman,Dan (Kevin McKidd), is able to travel in time, but he is also on a mission during his time travels. Though his power is relatively new to him, it is apparent that he has to figure out who he is supposed to help and figure out how to help them. It's like Superman meets Back to the Future.

The Relationship Factor in Journeyman

It wouldn't be a true drama if there weren't some type of relationship issues. Journeyman delivers. Figuring out who to help and how to do it is only half of Dan's battle. The other half is explaining his disappearances to his wife, Katie (Gretchen Egolf.)

To complicate things, when Dan travels in time, he speaks to his former love while Katie turns to Dan's brother (her former love) for advice.

My Recommendation

If you haven't watched Journeyman...
...
