merrymother23 says "Joel Osteen, middle of road motivational speaker, getting richer " about Joel Osteen

I get physically "ILL" when I hear the praises given to this nothing more then modern day Flim-Flam-Man. Where to start explaining MY TOTAL DISGUST for him and his so called C0-Preacher..his wife..who I refer to as Queen Victoria. The kind side of my heart, brain and soul validates he appears to be the Motivational Speaker that leads the herd of sheep who find some sort of message" in what he says. The REALIST side of my heart, brain and soul sees how little,if any, he says that offers anything of use to anyone.

As the KINGDOM of OSTEEN sucks in...more like SUCKERS in....those eager to not only "buy into" him as a Preacher, which by the way,HE admitted on a national TV interview he 'technically' was not...but rather, his answer..which I can't quote word for word..but it went something like this..."Well,I grew up in a home with my father, who was a Preacher" and then went on to explain, which I considered 'justify',why that actually did translate into him being a Preacher. Guess,Queen...
...

Oakie says "Seems like a great guy" about Joel Osteen

I think Joel Osteen is one of the most motivating people I have ever heard. He always has a genuine smile on his face wherever you see him on TV. I thought his dad was good, but he's even better. We bought his first book and I can see why it was on the New York Best Seller's list for so long. I can flip any channel on the TV until I come to him and I have to stop if only for a few moments. We should all take a lesson from him on how to live a good life....

mrkstvns says "Scripture LITE for an Amoral Consumerist Flock" about Joel Osteen

Joel Osteen is a freakin' poseur and as much a Christian as the Dalai Lama is (but without the cool haircut). Osteen looks good on TV, has a hot looking wife, and is hugely popular because he tells the people what they want to hear.

In the bible according to Joel Osteen, God *WANTS* you to be happy. He *WANTS* you to be successful, because he created you in his image, so when YOU trade in that little Hyundai econobox for a sleek, gas guzzling, new Corvette, not only do *YOU* look like a million bucks, but so does God!! Whoo-Hoo!!!

The convoluted illogic of a Joel Osteen sermon is as disgusting as it is a blatant display of how to violate Gods will while telling people on national TV that you're doing just the opposite. Self-justification of amorality, that's the crux of Osteen's message. Osteen's unthinking flock of non-believing pretenders soaks it up like dog pee into a sponge.

Joel's whole sermons are based around YOU being all you can be. Buy that new big screen TV!! After all, Joel......

wildlfowerr says "positive force" about Joel Osteen

Seen Joel's show Thursday night, Nov. 29th 2007 in Orlando Florida.

I had not seen him before live or on T.V. only read his daily email msgs.

I found his show lively, and up beat.

The only con was the $10 cover fee, and they still took up an offering.

Made it feel a little like a money making machine.

I realize they have overhead, but I feel they should have one or the other, not both.

Joyce Meyer was at the same venue, free admission, and offering. Seemed more reasonable to me.

But, overall the lecture and music was very good!

...

jxrandy says "Joel is a God send" about Joel Osteen

I used to watch Joel's dad, John Osteen, many years ago. I found him late one night flipping through the channels. I LOVED John. He was one of the most powerful ministers I had ever seen. Unfortunately my work schedule changed & I wasn't able to watch him any longer. A few years ago I started the search for him again, and I was saddened to find that he had died. I saw Joel Osteen's show & figured he was the son. I watched him for about 10 minutes & was disappointed that he wasn't like his dad, so I didn't watch again until this past year. Now, I am a devout believer in God, but not in church. I believe in, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". I don't believe that religon should be stuffed down your throat, especially since there are so many types of faith. So about a year ago I decided to give Joel's show 1 more look. I watched him for 30 minutes. I was amazed at how far he'd come since the first time I saw him. When you watch him you almost get the feeling he's talking......
