I loved this book Louder than Words by Jenny McCarthy. It tells of her struggles of the diagnosis of Autism of her son. I have a brother who is autistic, so it hit close to home for me. She is such an honest person, who makes it easy to understand. She also gives helpful information on what to do if you suspect a loved one has autism or if a loved one has been diagnosed with autism. I learned so much from this book. I would definitely recommend this book to ANYONE!...

I am a single mother of a child with Aspergers Syndrome and it is tough. After I read this book Louder Than Words I of course cried and thanked god that I had a child that could speak. All of the mothers of autistic children are heroes and saints for the dedication to their childrens health. Jenny McCarthy continues to fight for autism, if you want to see a different side of her please read this book. Or if you just want to know what a mother with an autistic child goes through--read it.

...

I recently picked this book up to help better understand a road my sister and my nephew are travelling down. I have read several other books about autism and they are very fact related. None focused on the emotion and anger and eventual acceptance of that diagnosis. Jenny's book does just that. It gives you the feeling that you aren't a statistic. I appreciate her sharing her story....

This is one of the many books that I have read with regards to Autism. I am one that does not agree with the "Healing" factor that she portrays. I do have a child with Autism and am well aware of the "treatments" that are available, but they are not suitable for everyone. And please, it is "a child with Autism, not, an autistic child". The disease comes after the child, not the other way around. Just an example: You wouldn't say I have a cancerous child, you would say I have a child with cancer....

I don't have an autistic child but I love reading education / psychology / family care books. This book, in my opinion, was excellent. A very down-to-earth account of what a parent with a child who has autism deals with. After I finished the book (in only 3 days~ a huge feat for me!), I passed it on to a mom who does have an autistic son, and she loved it (and also passsed it on).
Very good book, as are her other three!...

I loved this book. Some didn't like the language, but I believe the author is just trying to get her point out in a strong way. She's trying to let the reader know how she felt, the desperation a parent with a child with Autism knows only to well. This book is a fast read. It had great references in the back. I think it's great what Jenny is trying to do here. Glad I bought it, and would recommend everyone to read it. AUTISM AWARENESS!!!...

The books that most people are familiar with from author/ actoress, Jenny McCarthy are those that are funny and full of hillarious personal experiences whether it is from pregnancy to birth. She has a way of letting us into her life to know how down to earth she is and how much she is "just like us".But in her resent book "Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey In Healing Autism" shows us a little bit more of her than we ever knew.Probably more of the "just like you " than we ever realized. As a mother to a 4 year old son with autism I read this book in the hope of finding that even a celebrity would know how hard it is to deal with the everyday life of a child with Autism. In her book she lets us, the reader, into the most deficult part of any parents life. The part where you find out that your child is not like to rest and is going to go thru more than you imagined. The interesting part about this is that most of the people who are in her line of work don't for around admitting if there...
...
