I attended the Ivy Tech Nursing Program in Richmond, IN, and graduated in 1994 as an LPN. That was the same year that Ivy Tech became a State College! I learn better by hands on learning and that is exactly what I was able to do at Ivy Tech. All of the instructors were very helpful, and really cared about you as a student. I was only 19 yrs. old, so they became like my serrogate mothers(lol). We did our clinicals at Reid Memorial Hospital which has recently been moved closer to Ivy Tech and rebuilt to a much larger hospital that can offer more services, such as cardiovascular care.
...

Hello, my name is Garvin, and I'm a full time student at Ivy Tech Community Collage, Southwest campus (Evansville). I'm a 46yr old returning to school, with a full time job. I'm not in the nursing program yet but; I'm taking the prerequisite classes. The staff at Ivy Tech are VERY helpful, they will take the time to help you get the information you need to succeed!!!! The school has a boatload of student success seminars, stress management, time management, test taking skills, study skills, how to wright a paper, note taking skills, tutoring, job interviewing skills, resume writing, job placement, help in finding residents,(no on campus housing) fitness and wellness center,(gym) and a lot more. All FREE of charge. The school always has some sort of student activity going on. (DISCLAIMER; I go to school at night with a 40hr week day job. Most all student services are during day, I have to take off work to use most of the free services.)

I have a slight physical disability,...
...

I am a proud grad of this school X2 - I finished my LPN back in 1985 and with the help of a hospital grant, I was able to complete my RN studies at the same school later on. ALL my credits from any previous schools were transfered easily. This school does not make you attend and pay for classes that do not pertain to your field of choice. They also offered placement after graduation. Their clinical staff/instructors do not constantly turn over - 5 years later, most of them were still there. They also more than prepare you for you boards.

Looking for a great place to prepare for your future? Consider INDIANA VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL COLLEGE!
...
