I've been to most stores in my near by cities and this is where I found the product that I was searching for a protable cd player for a very considerate price. I would recomend it to parents for kids under ten. it's simply yet nice and it's just right just in case something wrong you buy it and buy a two dollar replacement garentee and that's it. Simple....

Ilona says "Go for it." about Insignia - NS-P4112

This seems like a nice unit. Simple and attractive, and so far plays everything I feed it (including burned CD's), with nary a "skip" (unlike the SONY unit it's replacing--which, although barely used, is wholly unreliable and prone to dropouts). The line out jack bypasses the volume control, and is useful for attaching to an external amp. The LCD readout is larger than many: about 1/2 inch tall, with stacked characters about 1/4 inch tall. The controls are simple, and logically arranged. The only problem I've found is that the AC power jack isn't fully compatible with my adapter--so that a slight twist of the cord, in the wrong direction, cuts the power. Despite that, all in all, not half-bad! I'm happy....... so far......
