Idahoan Baby Reds flavored mashed potatoes are easy, great-tasting and hopefully even have some fiber! Even my husband, not an instant mashed fan, liked them quite well!

I love these potatoes!! I can make up and batch, add cheese and Yum!!!! I can eat these alone or with a meal. I love to come up with new things to add to them. Adding crab meat and cheese is a favorite in my house. They taste like I took all the time to peel, boil and whipped a real potatoe. I suggest that everyone try them and spice them up by adding stuff to them. They are so yummy!!! Idahoan Baby Reds flavored mashed potatoes are the best!!!!...

My family is made-up of all meat an potatoe eaters. I have peeled enough potatoes in life to supply a days worth of french fries at a local fast food place.

I saw the instant potatoes a few years ago when they were introduced at my local market. Growing up with bad memories of instant potatoes, I was hesitant about purchasing them. Quite honestly, I would not have even tried them, except they had a ridiculously low price as an introductory offer. I purchased a couple packages, but it would be another month before I would actually make them.

I decided to try them, and I was overwhelming surprised at how good they were. The flavor was that of baby reds and the consistency was that of great mashed potatoes. The simplicity in making them is unbelieveable. Two cups of boiling water, mix in the package, and they're ready...

I tried these at Costco one day from the ladies that hand out samples. It always tastes good in the store, but different when you get it home.

But they're pretty good. They couldn't be easier to prepare. Boil 2 cups of water, pour in a 4.1 ounce package of flakes, stir, let sit for 5 minutes, serve.

There is artificial butter in these flakes so even though it doesn't say so, I add a pat or 2 of real butter to mask the artificial taste.

Otherwise the potatoes are tasty and different. They have bits of the red skin mixed in with them and it gives them an interesting look and a little bit of a lumpy texture. But not in a bad way. My husband likes these and usually I make mashed potatoes from scratch, so I guess that says something! I would still rather eat real mashed potatoes but these are good for a quick meal.
