I love my Santa Fe! I can do everything with this car. I have hauled all kinds of things in it because I do not have a truck and have discovered since I bought the Santa Fe I really don't need one. Drives and rides great and gets good gas mileage. What more could you ask for!...

I'm a mother of three and i love my Hyundai Santa Fe. It gets good gas mileage for an SUV and has a ton of safety features. The only problem I've had with the car in the year I've owned it is when one thing tears up everything goes south....

I wanted an suv but didn't want to drive a huge car so my parents got me a Hyundai Santa Fe. I love it. It's big enough to carry all the stuff to and from college and around town during the school year but small enough that it handles like you're driving a car instead of driving a big truck. It has side air bags, front air bags, good cup holders and gets pretty good gas mileage. I get around 22 miles per gallon around town and about 31 miles per gallon on the open road which is so important withh price of gas so high right now....

mayagirl says "Good vehicle for the money" about Hyundai Santa Fe - 2003

I purchased my Santa Fe in '05 after driving a Toyota Celica GTS for several years. I wanted something large enough to start a family and something that was roomy. The Santa Fe has a surprising amount of leg room for back passengers and is a comfortable ride. I love that it comes standard with power everything, a cd player, ShiftTronic, etc. The Santa Fe is also pretty affordable, especially if you pick up one used! I purchased mine 2 yrs old w/ low miles for nearly half of what it costs new. Trade in is horrible though! My Santa Fe picks up a lot of road noise and is a pretty wussy v6 (esp. compared to my sportscar), and starts to shake when I get above 70mph. The Santa Fe is definitely not a true sport utility vehicle, but it is safe and comforable. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone wanting an affordable family vehicle....

ladygray says "good car except for spare storage" about Hyundai Santa Fe - 2003

overall the Santa Fe is an excellent car. Started out with 21 mpg. I added a Tornado to increase it to 24.

I drive for a living and need some extra space for packages. Works well for this.

The one thing I dislike is the way the spare is stored. First time the tire was changed, my son did it and had trouble to get the spare out of the holder and had to put it back in to get the holder to stay up. He had to use the jack to raise the thing to get it back on the hook that holds it.

My son is a 24 year old Carpenter. If he had this much trouble how much would the average woman have?...

csmason says "It's well worth the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$" about Hyundai Santa Fe - 2003

I've had the Santa Fe since 9/03. So far it's been a very reliable vehicle. The size is perfect for a small family. Road handling is much more like a car than an SUV (compared to a Blazer). Mechanically it's been very sound with no break downs. The spare tire storage area did lock up and it wouldn't open enough to replace the spare tire. That took a factory replacement. The bumper to bumper additional warranty is well worth the price in this day and age. The only draw back I have is the gas mileage. It is definitely NOT economical.
...

I purchased my 2003 Sante Fe in 2004 and I have love it, it gets good mileage, the only drawback is the cargo area isn't large enoiugh, but I understand that on the newer models their is more cargo room. The passenger area is roomy enough for me and my family to sit comfortably especially on long trips which I have taken several, I think that it is a good buy for the money if you are looking for a smaller SUV....

skotty8191 says "Comfortable and affordable SUV" about Hyundai Santa Fe - 2003

I purchased the Hyundai Santa fe in 2003. This is a 4 cylinder model which i should have upgraded to the six. This vehicle drives comfortably and hasn't had any major issues. I have had some regular maintenance such as a tune up, tires, timing belts etc. I am not completely satisfied with the gas mileage considering it is a 4 cylinder. The Santa Fe no longer comes in a four cylinder, only starts at a six cylinder. If you are interested in a four cylinder, you can buy the Hyundai Tuscon which is very comparable to the Santa fe. In terms of safety, The santa fe comes with front airbags standard as well as side curtain airbags as an option....
