I really do not know what I would do with out my Tivo box! It is my lifesaver! I attend a very rigorous school which means I rarely have time to watch my favorite shows when they are on. I also tend to travel a lot. It is awesome to be able to even log in online to add a show to the "to-do list". Very user-friendly; my grandma even has one!...

I never watch commercials any more!

I love my Tivo!! The Tivo service updates the machine with the schedules of the shows on your particular television service. Then you get a 'season pass' to your favorite show and it will record it every time it's on, on any channel, any time of the day or night. You can limit it to only first-run shows, or include reruns. If you find an actor or actress that you like, you can search for shows that they're in. You can set up a wishlist to automatically record any show with, say, Robin Williams, or with the word 'Christmas' in the description, or all comedies, etc, etc, etc. You can adjust the recording quality to fit more shows on the hard drive if you record lots of shows.

And THEN!! This Tivo box includes a DVD player/recorder. Don't need a separate DVD player to watch movies AND you can record all your favorite shows to DVD to keep forever!!

Tivo also makes watching live TV better. If the phone rings or someone comes to the door, you...
...

I love my TIVO. I bought it early, when you could get a lifetime membership vs annual memberships. When this on finally goes bad, I will immediately go get a new one. I don't like that you now have to pay monthly fees or an annual membership for the service. But I guess they have to make money somehow....

buckley102284 says "TiVo plus the easiest DVD recorder in the world" about Humax - DRT400 TiVo 40-Hour Video Recorder

I've had a TiVo DVR since 1999, but I was still recording shows on my VCR, if I wanted to have a permanent copy of something. (example: soccer games), I had to use a VCR; but with the Humax TiVo/DVD Recorder, I can "TiVo" a show or sporting event and then transfer it directly onto a DVD. The TiVo/DVD Recorder is the easiest DVD recorder I've ever used. I use it with a Direct TV HD reciever, and although it's not recording the DVD's in HD, the picture quality of the DVD's is great.
...

As a teacher who wakes up between 4:30 and 5am each morning, I have to go to bed pretty early in order to competently handle 150+ teenagers each day. I used to set a VCR to record different shows that I didn't want to miss but it was difficult to set it up, I had to watch the show the next day, and the tape wore out quickly. I wanted a way to record the shows that I wanted to see and have the flexibility to watch them when I had a few free hours. And then I learned about the Humax TiVo systems.

We bought the Humax Tivo 40-Hour Digital Recorder for $200 at Best Buy. Because the machine has to be connected to the internet to receive programming information, we bought a $100 wireless card rather than hooking it up periodically to the house line. And then there is the TiVo subscription... $300 for the lifetime of the machine. When all was said and done we spent $600 to set this recorder up.

It's very easy to use this machine. You can set it to record shows at a specific time or...
...
