      <description>Growing up in the Washington D.C. suburbs was tough. My family didn't get our first color TV until 1970, and that was also the first TV we had that could get any channels above 13. Suddenly, a whole new brave world opened up to us, and my brother and I would rarely budge from our prime living room real estate on Saturday afternoons. Channel 20 was the greatest thing we'd ever seen: a whole slew of old movies interspersed with the occasional ad for used car dealers or off-brand laxatives. Our friends were John Wayne, Johnny Weissmuller, and Errol Flynn.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;When Tarzan, the Duke, and Robin Hood weren't entertaining us on the small screen, they were jetting off to Acapulco where the beautiful people lounged around the pool at the Flamingo Hotel, sipping the original Coco Locos and marveling at the spectacular sunsets. Wayne, Weissmuller, and Flynn owned the Flamingo. Lock, stock, and barrel.
