I dreaded cleaning my carpets but this Hoover Steamvac makes it soooo easy. First off, let me say that, thanks to this site, I was able to determine that others have used a vinegar/water solution as a replacement for detergents and that's what I did, as I've 2 cats.

It did not take out every stain the first time I went over them, but they were gone the next time so I'm more than satisfied. The tanks are very easy to get on and off this machine which, for me, is a real plus. The dirty water tank does fill up faster than the cleaner tank empties, so I just put in less cleaner and the the tanks were ready for changing at the same time. I figure that because this machine does such a wonderful job sucking out the dirty water, that tank fills up fairly fast. I couldn't believe how quickly the carpet dried after I'd finished the cleaning. I was able to replace furniture in like an hour on hot days so I wasn't forced to climb over tables and couches for long. (Of course the cats...

With two cats and a dog in a new home with light tan carpeting throughout, I honestly don't know where I would be without my Hoover SteamVac. I have to wash our carpets atleast once a month and this carpet cleaner is so easy to use. I also use to sell a lot of these when I worked in an appliance store a few years back. Here is the thing...if you think that the Hoover is leaking...it does not. Be sure to lock the lids on both containers before you use it. If you do not seal it properly it will leak...I know, I've made this error myself. Nothing is wrong with the Hoover. Go back and click the lids on secure...like you would do tupperware. Ever since I discovered my mistake ...It works exceptionally well. Also you only have to use a little carpet cleaning solution. You don't want to put in too much. I've had my machine for over two years and could not be happier. It's been a real life saver when I am preparing for company!

I am an Industrial Engineer. Just to give you a point of reference. After each usage, vac was cleaned and dried before storage. Used about every 2 weeks for spot cleaning and sometinmes 1-2 rooms. No pet hair. No excessive dirt or debris to clean up. First, the lower corners can not withstand normal impact with chair legs or the occasional furniture bump without cracking. Repair shop wanted $70.00 for new parts. Pah! 5 min epoxy and carbon cloth to repair and reinforce. Held up better than before. 4 months later, the holding tank started leaking and had spiderweb cracks everywhere. Bought new tank for $40.00. Month 5-6 very poor application of solution. Only put it out in strings. Verified this by crepe paper test. 10 PHONE CALLS TO HOOVER BUT NOT ABLE TO REACH TECH SUPPORT. Last month, brushes stopped turning and noise from gear box. Replaced at $85.00 cost. 1 week later the motor starts shreeking like a banchee with a handfull of gravel thrown in. Found that part...

We have this Hoover steam vacume. . My husband will actualy use it to help me around the house as I am cleaning. We got a great buy on it too.

I have had it for a few years now and have had no problms with it at all.

It is very simple to use, and it cleans very well and almost dries too !

I would buy it again, because it works well and is easy to push around. I have some minor back problems, and I must admit some of the vacume cleaners I have had in the past have not been good for these back problms which I have. But so far, this Hoover Steam Vac has done an exelent job for me! Many of my friends have this one also.

Hoover has always been a good name in Vacume cleaners and we seems to stick with purchasing the Hoover brands. They last and so far do not let me down when I have a job that requires using it. Stores well, and is always at my beckon call. I say "Yeah for Hoover products"

This product never stops amazing me. The Hoover Spinscrub finds dirt you didn't even know existed in your environment. You think your home is clean and then in a couple of passes of the Hoover you find out what's really lurking in your carpet. The brushes really help to loosen tough stains and the whole product in general is sort of self-explanatory to use. I have one dog and two cats and it actually picks up bunches of pet hair as well as dirt and that's after a thorough vacuuming. Another plus for me would be the nice size tanks. This keeps you from having to constantly fill and empty countless times, very efficient....

This floor cleaner is so powerful. I would suggest it to everyone!! We have 2 dogs and it's very messy sometimes and we can get this cleaner out and it's pretty easy to get going once you add the cleaner and we usually can get up any spot that Sadie or Lexi have made....

The Hoover SteamVac-Upright Vacuum SpinScrub-F5914-900 is an amazing machine. It is very easy to use and I love it. This amazing "power scrubber" real sucks in a good way. It clean deep into the carpet fibers to not only get the top layer of dirt but to also get the deep down soaked in dirt. It help deodorize carpets and remove pet stains as well. It also helps remove grape juice!!!! I would recommend this wonderful carpet cleaner to anyone who has pets, kids, or whoever just has a home that has been lived in....

I bought my Hoover steam vac at a garage sale for $20.00. They said they only used it a few times and it looked brand new. My mom has the same Hoover steam vac.

The five spin brushes really do a great job. The optional spin brush upholstery tool works great. I have a nine year old, a three year old, and a 1yr old plus 1 dog, so messes happen all the time. The steam cleaner unit isn't too heavy and doesn't over wet the carpet when cleaning. It really sucks up most of the solution it puts down and the carpet dries very quickly. It cleaned most of the stains that had been on my carpet and couch. Overall this is a great cleaner that I would highly recommend. I have heard good and bad about this steam cleaner, however I have never had any problems with it.

I love my Hoover steam vac because it makes big messes on the carpet "no big deal". When I didn't have one, a dropped glass of juice was a major problem. With the steam vac, a dropped glass of juice is just an opportunity to steam clean the rug. It's easy to use and a lot less expensive than renting. I also don't like renting because then you get other people's dirt (and often these are rented for vomit and urine issues) into your house. Gross!...

The Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub carpet shampooer is a good basic machine to maintain your carpets freshness and take up your daily battle with dirt. I have 5 dogs (large ones) a parrot and a cat and I'm using this machine at least once a week. I've owned a Hoover for 8 years and I've never wanted anything else.

If I had to point out a bad point it would be the attachments for stairs. Not much muscle there. Also, the attachement for tile is kinda whimpy too...but ya know, if you're in it for the main unit and getting a good clean carpet then this machine works very well.

I have never owned a steamvac before and I wish I bought this sooner! You do have to have patience, make sure you go over the same spot slooooowly to get up all the excess water, otherwise you'll have wet carpet for a while and the floor will get dirty faster from the soap residue, but that's going to be the case with all carpet cleaners. I love how the vacuum stops picking up water when the tank gets full so you never end up with a mess. True, you have to put your back into it (like all steamvacs) go over the carpet slowly to pick up all the water (like all steamvacs) and keep emptying the dirty water when doing an entire house (like all steamvacs) but this carpet cleaner leaves your carpet cleaner than if you paid someone else to do it....

When our Hoover shampooer finally died two weeks ago, I knew that it had lived a good life. It lasted through ten years 3 kids and 2 dogs, not to mention my husband who is unusually messy. Anyway, i headed H & H Gregg over the weekend to check on possible replacements as I wanted to do our family room carpet. The Steamvac was on sale at a great price which attracted me. We have always had good luck with our Hoover products and I wanted to stay with this line. When I brought it home, I was amazed how lightweight the box was...thus the equipment would be lightweight. I did our family room which is 400 square feet in less than 20 minutes and was not even tired from dragging the shampooer like I usually was. It is so lightweight, easy to use and clean, I was just amazed! I highly recommend this product!...

This steam cleaner gets the job done the first time. You can visibly see the difference the first time you use it - we did when we moved into our house and the previous owner had the carpets cleaned but the hoover was able to get a lot of debatable areas even cleaner. Dries quickly as the hoover has great suction and pick most of the water up as you go....

This is a good machine when it works. I've only had the machine for a year and I've already had to replace the brush block twice. In addition, the compartment where the cleaning fluid goes has lost it's seal and cleaner fluid leaks out all over the place. Would probably not recommend this cleaner to anyone else....
