We love our 2005 Honda Odyssey. It is roomy, comfortable, affordable and gets great gas mileage. We go camping alot and I am always amazed how much stuff I can fit in it. The power slide rear doors on both sides are so convenient. I have a 1 year old and a 4 year old and usually an arm full of groceries, so the remote control button is wonderful....

i love everything about this minivan except 2 minor things. first, the positive: it is very comfortable, heated front seats, separate heater/ac for back, good quality dvd player in back. the kids really love it. i have never had any mechanical problems, interior has leather seats and has held up very well from the abuse the kids and dog has put on it. 2 rear sliding doors can be opened by keychain control, drivers control, and rider in backseat (child safety control can turn this feature off).

the one thing i don't like is the road noise when on the highway. i think this problem was taken care of in later model years.
the other negative--the dash gives a glare on the windshield in full sun.

overall, a very good car and excellent value. mileage per gallon is ok.

hope this was helpful to someone.
-----linda...

If you are in need of a van that holds a lot of people and cargo then the Honda Odessey is the car for you. We have a growing family and Honda provided us with a great used car that provided us with a lot of ammenities for an affordable price. The van has seats that fold down into the floor which provides us with a lot of cargo room for moving large objects. The windows are great in the summer time as they roll down verses being pushed out like other vans. There is a sun shade to put up to block the sun on sunny days for my children. The best feature of my van is that there is a mirror that I can fold down and see my children in the backseat which provides me with reassurance that things are alright. I can see their every move. The only con that I have found with my van is that the doors are automatic and they tend to scrape on the side when opening and closing the door, but Honda has addressed those problems with us and taken care of it so that it is no longer a problem for...
...

I love the odyssey ex, it is comfortable, roomy (I can fit 4 car seats and 3 adults
in there) and quiet. The only problem I have seen, and a friend of mine who also has an odyssey, is that the paint chips easily and will rust quickly. I have had my honda for a year and have a ton of chips and rust spots on it and I take very good care of my van! Over all it is a great van, just buy some factory touch up paint along with it....

I was sooooo sad to trade in my Saab for a van, but with a third child on the way there was no option. We drove a few different - and newer- vans and I hated about all of them with the exception of this one. It drives wonderfully. It has plenty of bells and whistles, although I would add the parking sensor, auto door locks & outdoor thermometer. It's easy to put the kids and and get them out. the seats are pretty comfy - could use the lumbar on the passenger seat. It feels more like an SUV than a bus....

I love everything about this van. It's a smooth ride and the kids love the DVD Player in the back. The seats fold down for ease of use and the leather wipes clean. It parks well and feels like driving a sedan. The only thing I might change is to make the sun visors a bit longer...maybe add those extension things that Toyota has on their Camrys. Other than that I love it!...

In 2005, we traded up from a teensy 2000 Toyota Echo that was still getting 38 mpg and zipping along with gusto because we were expecting Baby #2. My first day behind the wheel, it took 10 minutes of slow creeping to back out of my driveway. Terrified doesn't describe it.

But once on the road, I experienced total elation. I felt so ... BIG. Much bigger than those puny sedans way down below me. Hah!

Okay, so maybe that's not what you want to know about a minivan. But I figure you can check out all that stuff about Drive Train and whatnot from a brochure or the Honda website. I'm here to tell you the stuff that you won't get anywhere else:

All you really need to know about the Honda Odyssey EX

1. Swing wide, sweet chariot

I'm an okay driver. Pretty straight shot most days. But takeoffs and landings do me in, and my car has the dings, dents and scrapes along its sides to prove it. Just don't get behind me when I'm parking and we'll all get along fine.

With fancier models, you can get the little...
...
