I Have 2003 honda civic, and several occasions have almost hit people crossing the street when making a left turn. There is an awful blindspot on that side. It's best to slow down when making left turns, in the event that you have to suddenly brake.
...

This is my 2nd hybrid, the first being the 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid. We can talk about the style. We could talk about the room, which for an avg person, theres enough, but if your in the 5'10" +, driving might be a little hard. The handling and steering has gotten better over the years. The main thing that everybody has gotten, well, wrong, is the MPG. If you drove the Speed limit, and not try to "peel" off from a stop, you can get over an avg 47 MPG. I've even hit 53 MPG but i do about half and half of the type of driving I do on a daily basis.
...

This car is great in every way. It saves so much money on gas (not to mention the environment!) and it has the high quality standard of a Honda vehicle. The miles per gallon are great and the design looks very modern. Pricewise, it is also very reasonable, especially since you save soooo much money on gas in the long run!

Seriously, by environmentally friendly cars! Don't be selfish when it comes to our earth!
...

I've had this car now for over a year and love it. It doesn't get the mileage stated (but what car does). I have gone on a few trips and the readout tells me I got 43 mpg - yipee! Much better than my husband's SUV. I drive a lot in NYC so its nice to know I'm not burning up gas when I'm stuck in traffic jams or at red lights (nor am I emitting pollution into the air). The car fits me nicely, all the controls are very convenient, the sound system is fine, and it has enough pick-up for me to pull into traffic or pass quickly on the highway....

mistsy says "A bit sluggish and cramped." about Honda Civic Hybrid - 2007

If you are in the market for a compact car with high gas mileage, this may be your saving grace. It's affordable, there are plenty of them on the lots, and there is some discounting.
The car gets about 40mpg and that's the reason to buy it vs. the non-hybrid. It will cost around $20-22K new, or about a $7K premium over the gas model.

You have all kinds of options, of course, like leather or not, various upgrades, etc., but none of these things really matter because the only difference between what you get here vs. in the gas model is the hybrid technology. If you want all the upgrades, you can get them in either the hybrid or traditional models.

The car is cramped, of course, because it's a compact. I'm only 5-7 and my head was near the roof. Not uncomfortably so, but enough to make me feel cramped. The backseat is OK, but it doesn't fold down because of the batteries in the trunk. I don't care much about that as I don't haul things.

I was a little concerned about, of all things, the lack of...
...

RogerCat says "Love this car, especially with gas prices going up!" about Honda Civic Hybrid - 2007

I bought this car a year after buying my first luxury car (an Acura). I'm thinking about selling the Acura because it is simply too expensive to drive now because of the price of gas. This little Honda gets me everywhere I want to go - it's a workhorse. And for a small car, and a hybrid no less, it has plenty of zip. And the gas mileage is amazing. And I feel good about driving it because I know it is producing less emissions. It's an all around winning car!...

I love my Civic Hybrid. I down sized from a CRV and an Accord for the better fuel economy. It was worth it! Gas is too expensive for luxury with my average means. I do wish there were more colors to choose from, a bit conservative. The 2007 EPA expected mileage on the window sticker was off, 49-50 mpg. The 2008 EPA excepted mileage is correct, 40-51 mpg....

The new windshields that are coming out in the newer cars present a bit of a blind spot issue. It usually doesn't affect me, but every once in a while I realize that I don't see the car across the street or a person crossing. It's something to be very aware of....
