Holmes Electric Space Heater last year at my local Walmart for $20. I moved into a house last year that uses a gas tank located outside of the house to heat the house during the winter and LP Gas wanted $300 to fill the tank. I'm on a tight budget so I didn't have the money to fill the tank so I did a little researching online on Space Heaters and decided to purchase this one from Walmart. It was the cheapest one amongst the many other heaters they sell. The heater is a small (about an 8" cube) electric heater with 1,500 watts and a large grill. It has two large control knob located on the top of the small unit. One knob is to turn the unit on and off and has three settings to choose from: High, Low, Fan Only, and Off. The second knob is the thermostat and allows you to set the temperature from low to high. I preferred the highest setting as it was very cold in the house. There is also a red button that lights up when the unit is turned on. I didn't find the unit too noisy once it was...
...

inajam says "Fast Reliable Heat, But Coil Burned Out Within Two Months" about Holmes Heater - Compact Heater with Fan

While this compact unit provides fast warm up and is very light and easy to use, we have only owned it for 2 months. Tomorrow it goes back to Wal-Mart for an exchange. The end of the coil at the terminal burned in half and now it is nothing but a portable fan with no heat. I'm teetering on whether to exchange for the same unit or a different one. Since I've found no other reviews yet concerning the Holmes Portable Heater coil burning out, I believe I'm going to go ahead and give Holmes one more chance. We have another of the same type unit and it is currently replacing this one in the bedroom. Now I just have to walk into a cold bathroom in the mornings. Hopefully Holmes will look into this failure to find out what may have caused the break in the coil....

it takes the chill out of the house. It may raise the light bill, so be prepared. but it does save on the gas bill it makes it so that you don't have to set ur furnice up very high. i like the fact that it wasn't high in price. i also like the fact that i could carry it through the house it is very light weight. I like the fact that i could have it around the children and not worry about them being burned by it . it is best to warm a room at at time so be prepared to purchase more than one... ...

Buggheart says "No more chicken skin when getting out of the shower! " about Holmes Heater - Compact Heater with Fan

I bought this Holmes Compact Heater Fan last week because it's really cold here. Due to high heating costs we keep the heat down pretty low in our house otherwise our bill would be over $300 a month. We compensate for the low temps by using down throws and lots of layers but that doesn't help when getting out of the shower. I'm not a morning person to begin with so when I get out of a hot shower and am hit with cold air it kind of ruins my day right off the bat.

So I set out to find a small space heater for my bathroom that I can run while I'm in the shower and emerge from the shower into a nice warm bathroom. I found the heater at Lowe's for only $12. It was small, inexpensive, and the side of the box stated that it was for small rooms so I figured it would work well for my large bathroom.

And it does! While I'm running the water to get it hot I plug in the heater which is across the room from the shower and start it running on high. It quickly heated up the room and made a...
...
