We only feed high quality food to our personal cats and our many many fosters. Corn is a main allergen for cats. Think about cats in the wild.... they would never be caught eating a corn stalk. They eat protiens such as chickens, rabbits, duck, etc.... Feeding "junk" foods like Purina, Friskies, Science Diet, Eukanuba, etc.... is like you eating McDonald's, Burger King, etc... every day for every meal. It may taste good, but how would your body react. Wouldn't you rather pay a little more upfront for a high quality diet, rather than fork out more money down the road to a vet? The other sad thing about Science Diet, is that many vets seem to "push" it on customers so they think it is actually a good food. Your pet(s) deserve the chance to live long healthy lives. Just take a moment to read the ingredients labels next time you are picking up pet food. May your animals live long healthy lives, and your vet bills be low.

I've used Science Diet for over 17 years, which is the age of my first cat, though she's not the oldest one in my clutter. Everyone is very healthy, with nice coats, that isn't all fly-away when it's shedding season. Only a few hairballs every now and then too.

It's well worth it in the long run, and really isn't very expensive when you factor in the quality, and the daily feed requirement being less than other brands. There is less poops and it is less stinky, so that's less litter usage too!

If you get on the Science Diet program of feeding, be sure you sign up for deals and coupons at their website. Then buy the largest bag you can afford, because those small bags are really ridiculously priced! Store it tighly, in a special container so it doesn't get air to it and spoil - and your cat doesn't tear into the bag!

I have 9 cats, and in addition to using Science Diet, I also feed Purina Pro Plan. The closest PetSmart is almost an hour away, but it's cheaper...

Science diet light formula is a wonderful cat food, but it is pretty exspencive. It does work though. My cat use to be very small, but then I moved, and my cat became an inside cat and she got very big. She weighed 19 lbs. I was conserned. So, tried the Science diet cat formula, and she did loose one pound, but the price of the food was catching up to me. I had to change her food to a cheaper brand, and boy was that a mistake. She had bad bm's and the house stunk like, you know what. Then I went back to Science diet cat formula. And that made a big difference. It is a bit on the exspencive side, but overall it is so worth every penny. My cat is more active and she looks better and if I were her I would say she is feeling much better about herself. She did loose more weight and her potty time is not so messy any more. Science diet is a great cat food to use if your cat is over wight and there is nothing helping your cat to loose weight.

Hill's Science Diet Light Formula Feline Maintenance Cat Food

I adopted a severely overweight Cat. His owner had been starving him in an attempt to force him to lose wight !

This food , if fed EXACTLY as directed not only keeps the cat well fed but after a years time on the food he regained his youthful figure and energy!

Feed you overweight , elderly cat this product an see the results!

I have two cats that I adopted from the MSPCA, when they were just kittens. They are brother and sister, and truly members of the family. Indoor cats, pampered and loved. This food, and all Science Diet food, was the recomendation from the shelter. In the beginning I thought it was expensive, and the price just keeps going up. Now, around 12 dollars a bag. However, when I ran out, and couldn't get to the vet to get more, I gave them something else. They both threw up all over the place. Over the years, anytime they eat anything else they throw up. Now, Is this because they only like Science diet, and are trying to tell me something??? Or, is other stuff not agreeing with their little tummies? All I know, is that it is worth it to me to pay for something that they run to eat, day after day, year after year, and keep down. They are heathy, happy, and have beautiful, shiny coats. Their skin, and teeth, and gums are always healthy too. I have to attribute this to their diet. Science Diet....

One of my 2 cats is a rather large girl. As a kitten, she seemed to have a very long tail, proportionally, for her body size. It took a couple of years to fill out, but she grew into her tail! My friends swear I'm raising a small tiger. Given that her trail now looks proportional to the rest of her, I believe she was destined from birth genetics to be a large cat.

Still, I didn't want her to be fat. Being too large can cause other health problems for cats, just as it does for humans. I tried Science Diet Light in hopes of reducing her weight. Unfortunately, she just seemed to eat more of it than usual, which defeated the whole purpose of a "diet." (Both my cats have always been nibblers throughout the day, with no specific feeding time). Since they both were eating more, I wondered if they were actually getting what they needed nutritionally from this food, or if they ate more because they felt cravings because something was lacking in their diet.

I have 2 cats and one of them is very allergic to most cat food brands. I used to buy Whiskas for him but he would start licking the inside of his legs up till he had nothing but bare skin on them and sometimes it would even bleed. I was very concerned and talked to a vet about it and was told that most likely my cat is allergic to dry food that I was feeding him at the moment. I was reccommended Science Diet and am feeding him that ever since. Smokey's allergy didn't go away completely but he is slowly getting better.

The only bad thing about this food is that it is very expensive. Its price just went up $2 and now a small bag of it costs over $10.

I initially purchased this cat food simply because it was recommended by the lady at the pet shelter where we adopted our kitty. Actually, she recommended either Science Diet or Iams. Since the Science Diet happened to be on sale that day, that's what we purchased.

During the adoption process, we were strongly advised to keep the cat indoors for her safety and longevity. However, a cat that can't explore outdoors is more likely to become overweight. The first year of our guardianship, our kitty put on a little weight. Not too bad, the vet said, but enough to recommend a light formula cat food. We've been feeding our cat Hill's Science Diet Light Formula Feline Maintenance ever since.

According to the manufacturer, veterinarians recommend and feed Science Diet more than any other pet food. That sounds like a ringing endorsement to me. The formula is designed for cats one to six years old (our kitty is four-years-old). In addition, Science Diet Light is nutritionally balanced...
