This printer was mine about 2 years ago then my oldest daughter went to college and I gave it to her to print reports, and so on. Then the Christmas after her graduation she gave it to my youngest. She uses the computer like there is no tomorrow! We put it first at home and it kept saying no paper. We pressed the continue button but it's like it is frozen. So we brought it to work and no one could fix it not even my oldest. I guess 4 years for a printer is good but, my daughter is still upset. So we are going to get a new one from staples and donate that one for $50 off!
...

My sister bought a refurbished model of this printer for our mother for Christmas. I had bought myself a different HP all-in-one model for myself. After installing my own, I then installed my mom's. I am jealous. The 3180 model has memory card readers and you can print proofsheets and easily select photos and sizes to print. The photo quality is very good, as I was using everyday paper to print rather than photo paper, this just shows the quality that photos will have....

As a college student, I was looking for a cheap, decent printer that I could use just to print off a few pages now and then. I usually use the printer at school when printing off tons of papers, but this is perfect to have around my house when I need it. It is fast and simple to use. I printed a photo off of here once and it was beautiful! I am very impressed with this printer for how cheap it was and for how many features it has. The scanner also works well- even when I set my 2,000 page Anatomy book on it! Overall, I am very happy with this printer and would recommend it to anyone... Especially college students!
...

Install: Everything was fine until after the program asked to connect to the USB cable. It detected the device, but after 15 minutes of waiting for the install to finish, I decided to start over because it was apparent that the install was frozen up, even though task manager said it was running. The install also gave me some memory error message, so what I decided to do was try and reinstall by turning off Windows Defender, as well as my anti-virus (I use AVG), and firewall (Windows XP). It reinstalled smoothly.

This is my first color inkjet, leave alone photo printer, so I have no other printer with which to compare it. I printed one photo with the HP 92 black cartridge and HP 93 Tri-color cartridge, then printed it again with the HP 99 Photo cartridge and HP 93 Tri-color cartridge- I could not discern a difference in the quality of both prints, so I wonder if perhaps there is any point to buying the special “photo” ink. I printed photos both on Office Depot inkjet...
...

This is an awesome all-in-one printer. I purchased this when my old, basic printer died on me. I wanted to be able to photo share and scan pics/documents. I found this all-in-one with card readers built-in for under $100! The print speed and quality is great, and the ink cartridges are very inexpensive. I would highly recommend this all-in-one to anyone looking for great quality at an affordable price!...

My youngest daughter has been after me to get her own printer for almost a year now; heretofore she has been sharing my HP Officejet 7130. I limit what she can print and she doesn't like that one bit. So when I purchase my new HP dv9000z notebook computer, the company was offering up a Photosmart C3180 All-In-One Inkjet Printer for a mere $20.00 after mail-in rebate, so I took the plunge and bought it.

My Viewpoint

The Photosmart C3180 All-In-One Inkjet is a small unit, but it packs in a lot of features. HP advertises this printer as an All-in-One, but it lacks the ability to fax, which is fine with me, my daughter does not need that functionality. The unit does print, scan, (flatbed scanner only), and copy in color and black & white. Setup was easy, but the software will take a while to complete, however you can customize the installation.

The Photosmart C3180 All-In-One Inkjet ships with two inkjet cartridges: tricolor and black. The paper tray folds down so that one can insert...
...
