shirleylock1 says "It crashed in less than 2 years" about Hewlett Packard Pavilion tx2000

I bought the HP Pavilion thin line because it took up less space on my desk. It was difficult to use and was not what I was expecting. In less than two years, of course after the warrenty was out I smelled a burning scent, and it shut down. I would let the PC cool and continue with my work. It would over heat and I would have to shut it down again, sometimes loosing my data. Sometimes it would just shut down. My local PC service said it would be over $200 to replace the electrical board, so I just bought a new hard drive. I was very dissapointed in the performance and cost to replace parts. In addition the parts had to be ordered from Hewett Packard, which would delay the repair. I do not recommend this particular model. I have since purchased a Compaq Presario PC, and have not had any difficulty todate. I donated the old PC to the local techical school for them to use in the computer repair classes, so some good came out of it.
...

I am a medical student always looking for a good deal. With so many classes that require complex diagrams that are not easily placed in computer format, the Tx2000 series was the answer to my prayers. It was incredible to spend less that $900 for a computer that allowed me to take my notes directly in an organized manner. One note is the main feature that I use on my computer with the stylus pen. The HP eraser pen is very convenient because it lets you write as if you were using a pencil, write with the pointed tip and erase with the other end. Processing speed is above average and 250Gb RAM is so useful. The touch screen is responsive with several options that become available depending on how long you hold the touch, this allows for the equivalent of a left click on a mouse.I love the fact that I can either use the stylus or I can just use my finger for the touch screen. My major complaint is that it randomly loses its built in fingerprint reader function which can be annoying, if...
...

jtedcastle says "HP Pavillion tx2000 - suprised me by how much I like it." about Hewlett Packard Pavilion tx2000

I first saw the HP Pavillion tx2000 at work. We have to use a tablet screen for our paperwork, and I really liked it. When my husband and I were looking for a laptop, we both decided we wanted a tablet.

I like this one for it's size and weight - fits easily in my backpack, and doesn't weigh a ton. The screen is smaller than the average laptop, but it certainly big enough for everyday e-mail, facebook, etc. I think if you are really into games, the screen may not be big enough for you. The built in webcam is great, and the bluetooth is really cool, once I learned how to use it. Sending pictures between my Blackberry and the laptop has been really easy.

The CD/DVD drive is a bit awkward, but on a laptop this small, I don't know how else they could have put it in. It has enough USB ports for all of the extra junk I tend to hook up to it (cameras, etc). The memory is certainly big enough for all my pictures and music.

The mouse / touch pad thing takes a while to get used...
...

I absolutely love this tablet, it is better then most of the tablets out there and cheaper too! With the webcam, fingerprint reader, DVD burner, it has everything I could ever need. Recommend you get the bigger battery though, it stick out a little but it works as a handle for holding it in your arms as you write....

The HP pavilion tx 2000 Laptop has everything I could ask for in a compact size. It is great that the screen is swivel, lays flat to act like a tablet and has a touch pen and on screen keyboard when needed. It has Windows Vista which I have had no trouble with. I like that it has bluetooth and is compatible with my Blackberry cell phone. The microphone and built in webcam makes it easy to keep in touch with my sister who lives in Arkansas and her new grandbaby lives here. I love the mouse pad. After using my mouse pad, I can't seem to control my daughter or Husbands. I use my laptop everyday for work and play. I also love the Graphics on the back of screen and on the edge of keyboard...
