busymom-1114 says "HP 2600n is a little slow....." about Hewlett Packard LaserJet 2600n Printer

We bought this printer so we could print commercial labels for our wine bottles. All in all it is a great printer with some flaws.

The HP 2600n is a big printer and it takes up a lot of space on my desk. It is also very heavy so I have to have my husband move it for me. The cartridges are expensive, around $80 per color, but they seem to last a long time. It gets slow when you print more than 10 pages with graphics on it at a time. It needs a rest time so that it doesn't get to hot and start smearing the pictures.

I was disappointed that I could not print pictures on picture paper. It prints letters or brochures with 20% graphics EXCELLENTLY. When we do labels it does a great job as long as we aren't in a hurry. It also smells burnt when it is printing. Kinda annoying but the quality is excellent.

I would recommend this to someone who wanted professional printing but wasn't in a hurry or didn't need huge quantities.
...

Junibob says "The HP 2600n fills the bill for my small office!" about Hewlett Packard LaserJet 2600n Printer

After purchasing the HP Color LaserJet 2600n I set it up quickly with the accompanying instructions and fired it up. The quality was everything I require as a Graphics Designer. The speed is a little on the slow side, so I wouldn't recommend it in a large office environment, but for my one-person home office it's more than adequate.

The biggest trick to getting quality print outs from any laser printer is to use the special paper that is on the market. Using copy paper for everyday printing not only looks shabby, but it's not designed for use on a laser printer. Even the photo paper MUST be for laser printers or you'll lose your glossy finish because the inkjet paper absorbs the toner.

The HP 2600n is built with the finest quality and performance you could ask for. It's almost silent when printing and its warm up time is relitively short compared to some other color laser printers.

All in all I believe my investment in the HP 2600n was well justified when compared to its performance.......

Junibob says "The HP Color LaserJet 2600n is a graphics designer's dream." about Hewlett Packard LaserJet 2600n Printer

The Hewlett-Packard Color LaserJet 2600n is just the laser printer I've waited to purchase. It has many of the features I require as a Computer Graphics Designer including clarity of reproduction, user-friendly operation and simplicity of design.

While its speed is on the slow side, 8 ppm, it's an ideal printer for a home office that requires quality printouts. The enclosed paper drawer at the bottom holds 250 sheets, and you can add a second 250-sheet drawer for $149 - a little on the pricey side but it greatly increases the printout capacity is you do a lot of printing. Adjusting the paper drawer's width and length guides for letter or legal paper is also right at your fingertips.

The weakest area of the 2600n was in the printing of gradients, because it made abrupt transitions instead of a smooth flow of color change. The only other fault I have found is not actually with the printer itself, but with the price of the four tonor cartridges. They're on the steep side of the scale......

The printer was easy to set up and install. Since it is a laser, pring quality is great.

Photos also come out crystal clear, however the print setings must be changed as to type of paper.

Checked on the price of new ink cartriges, about $240.00 for all four.

overall excelent printer for the price.
...

Madisonmtn says "Great print quality, easy to use, expensive toner replacement." about Hewlett Packard LaserJet 2600n Printer

I've owned HP Inkjet, Photo and Laser printers for over 10 years. I currently own an HP2605dn Color Laser Printer. I prefer HP to others, because of the print quality and price of the printer. The biggest down fall is the cost of replaceing the toner, which is more costly than other brands. You could by a whole new printer for the cost of replacing the 4 different toner colors.

I haven't had much trouble with the HP Laser printers but when I have, the customer service has been quite fair most of the time.. but sometimes a very long process to get a hold of a person to talk to.
...

Hewlitt Packard did a great job with this printer. I have had this for about a year and have had no problems with it. It prints with great quality and have not had to replace ink yet. The price was awesome and again the quality is outstanding. Thanks again for such a wonderful product from Hewlitt Packard....

lcrittenden says "If your warranty is up you are on your own" about Hewlett Packard LaserJet 2600n Printer

II call the Hewlett Packard customer service line because I couldn't find information about my printer that I needed. I neede to ask the name of a part for my printer that I needed to replace and find out if I could purchase it. I was told that my warranty was up, I could be transfered to the technical department and it would cost me $39.00 to get the answer to my question, becuase the warranty was expired. It wasn't as if I was asking them to replace the part or even how to fix or replace the part. I think that it is rediculous that I couldn't ask a simple question about purchasing a part that related to a piece of equipment I had purchased from them becaue the warranty had expired.
...
