Hewlett Packard HP Pavillion DV6000 Laptop is the worst laptop we have ever bought. I bought this laptop for my son in 2007 for his Christmas present. It has been nothing but trouble from the time we bought it. It had some kind of pre installed software update that completely shut the computer down when you clicked it. My son said it popped up and he clicked update. I looked at the computer and it said updating but the asked for a product key. The materials that came with the computer did not include the right # anywhere. The computer would not ever cut back on. I had to call HP and ask for a recovery disk because the computer does not come with one and completely redo it all. This wiped out several programs that were installed on the computer when it was bought. It does not even have the software to play a dvd now. I will never buy another HP computer. I would never tell anyone to buy one either.

I had the same laptop for years and was in the market for a new one. I had been recommended this laptop by my mom and decided to give it a whirl. I am not disappointed in the least.

I use a computer primarily for surfing the internet, checking email and also working from home in microsoft office. I love this laptop! I am able to do all this and so much more than I even imagined!

I've had this laptop for a few months and am still very excited with it and am happy to learn all the things it can do! I discover new things every day. My friend even bought the same one at my recommendation.

HP also gave me a free printer along with the laptop so it was a very very very good deal! HP also has great customer service - if I ever had a question, I was able to call the phone number and someone was always ready and willing to help out. No matter what the question was. I highly recommend!

The HP Pavillion Dv6000 is one of the best laptops I have ever used. It can surf the web at lightning speeds and also run modern games at meduim to high qualtiy settings. It is also very easy to travel with because of its long bettery life and easy to carry design. One of my favorite things about this computer is its large, bright screen. It is great for gaming and for reading webpages with small font. Also, the SD card slot built into the computer is a convience and saves you time and money compared to buying an adapter at the store. Also, the quickplay and volume buttons at the top allow for easy adjustment and controling movies. Last of all, the ability to turn the mouse on and off at the touch of a button is a good feature which saves you time. For a computer this great, the price is pretty low. In conclusion, if you are looking for a laptop to play games and surf the web or work on a buisnuess presentation, this is the laptop you have been looking for.

Once I learned how to use it, I fell in love with this laptop. I use it for online school, so I am on it a lot.

One of my favorite features is the easiness of the keystrokes. The buttons press easily, which allows for quick typing.

I also love the quickplay buttons. You can adjust volume, activate wireless lan, and put the computer in standby mode with the soft touch of a button.

This is the best laptop I have ever owned. It looks sleek and it is super fast. It has convenience quick buttons along the top. It is wireless and I love it. My only complaint is the Vista Software. It seems to slow it down a bit.

I love this laptop!! It has everything you can think of! I gave the HP Pavilion's DV6000 Laptop four stars instead of five, only because it doesn't have a back-lit keyboard but besides that,this laptop is the best. Another reason it's the best because it was very affordable!! I have a 16 inch screen and everything and you would think that costs at least one thousand dollars right? Wrong! I paid a little over seven hundred for mine!! I really love this laptop!!

Hp Pavillion dv 6000 bought this notebook computer 15 months back.key board is really sensitive.on pro longed use you will have problems with battery.you might even face problem with the fan. makes lots of noice. but great customer care via phone or chat great support.sound quality is good.Even had problem with ac adapter but was covered in warranty.had problem with scroll pad.gets heated up may be becoz i use it for 16 hrs a day.

cd rom irrites at times

but can always rely n the customer support

great item to buy.

all in all a great purchase and good default softwares provided

This Hp Pavilion dv6000 battery life time isn't that great. It doesn't last that long. The computer freezes all the time. Windows Vista sucks. I don't like it a bit.

Okay, I got this laptop at $500 at a Big Lots sale. I previously owned an Acer but it was way too big and too heavy and the features and "workability" just weren't doing it for me. The appearance of this computer is stylish and conservative. It doesn't have a crazy color but the design is nice on the front and gives it some "pizaz." The touch screen volume control,dvd controls, and quickplay controls are very convenient! It is nice and light weight. Now, we'll look inside the computer. I keep a lot on my computer including vista, itunes, quickplay, games, windows, and much MUCH more. This computer accomodates them all and does not slow down. This computer is perfect for a student and/or a person who is on the go. It also has a webcam. I love this computer and any one else who uses it will too!

my hp pavillion dv6000 laptop has always been painfully slow, probably because of all the software preloaded onto it that ive never used. the wi-fi has always been slow, and now does not work at all. this, my third pc, has finally convinced me to switch to macs.

The HP Pavilion DV6000 Laptop looks good. Video resolution is crisp, the keyboard handles well, and operation is basically quiet. For these reasons, I really wanted to like this machine.

Sadly, the optical drive and USB ports have given a lot of grief. The optical drive "hangs" and has been replaced a couple times. USB ports work part of the time, but then stop recognizing connected devices for no reason. Without a network backup, this is a problem.

HP has a history of good laptops. I'd look at some of their other models.

This system was recalled by HP for power issues. Prior to turning the system over for a revamp, it wouldn't stay on for more then a couple hours. No particular trigger shut the system down and no amount to trouble shooting software could assist in determining the problem (i.e. not heat or os). After the awsome HP techs "fixed" the system, it still had the same issue. Don't by this system...I refuse to purchase HP systems now, so, if you do...do it cautiously....

The Hewlett Packard HP Pavilion DV6000 Laptop was given to me a couple of Christmases ago, I initially thought it was a bit extravagant for my kids to buy for me and would not get much use as I do most of my computer work at my desktop.

That has all changed, I now use the laptop more than my desktop.

The system is fast "beefy" enough to run just about any software out there and the mobility factor has helped with my work expotentionally.

Hp dv6000 laptop works for what I use it for. At home Mom who surfs all day with an occasional need for burning dvd's and cd's. Great Pc yeah. Fantastic, no. Overall a great laptop for everday computing....
