I sold my full size laptop and bought an HP Mini 1000 netbook instead. I used my laptop mostly when travelling to check email and surf the net. I use my desktop computer most of the time at home. But, since buying my Mini, I've found it much more useful. I keep it by my chair and if I see something when I'm watching TV that I want to check out (or vote on Dancing With the Stars), I can grab it and get online quickly. I find that I use it a lot more than I did my laptop. Also, when I went on a recent airplane trip, I decided to take my Mini with me and it was easy to pack, easy to take through security and didn't add a lot of weight to my luggage.

PROS: Small and very portable, just as fast as my laptop, has a built in webcamera, can easily add a wireless mouse.

CONS: No DVD drive, less hard drive space that some laptops

This Mini is best for people who just want to check email and surf the net. If you want to play movies, you can't unless you download them, and I suspect it wouldn't be...

HP Mini Processor N270

This Laptop Is Small & easy for those on the Go. Small enough for little ones to want to play with it. you can do everything you need to do on this laptop as you would do on a full size laptop. this laptop is easy to take around for those who need a laptop for work, school, for those just love being on the computer. i myself love this product i have one & i use it everyda. i'm a stay at home mom & i use it to make money at home. i have to say this product is very useful & should be very useful to those who have one. if you or someone you know that is looking for a laptop this laptop they should buy because its highly recommended. the processor is great, the gb amount is perfect. i have to say this laptop is very easy to use you really dont need to read the manually to know how to set it up or to use it. i would highly recommend those to compare prices of different stores to find the best price because its a helpful tip to everyone that wants to save money....

We at HiTech Integrated Solutions (fire Alarm Company i work for) Just got 4 of the HP Mini Laptops From Verizon 1151nr Hp Net book. To start the whole thing off, One guy got his and left his desk for about five minutes, we sharpened a pencile down until it was tiny, and we set some miniature 1/2 inch post it's all on top of his little note book. It was really funny for him to come back and see that all of his supplies had been miniaturized. He did not laugh.

But let's dig into the tech portion.

screen is very very small. Verizon says the screen area is ten inches, I would assume that is the diagonal corner measurement that no human thinks of as a standard. truth is, it's around seven inches from left to right and about three and a half from bottom to top. that's just the screen area. Beleive me, if you have good eyesight, this will only mess you up. there is no video out connection, well there is this weird video connection that is nothing close to standard anything, not hdmi not dvi,...

My hp mini was a great investment. I bought it from target a few weeks before I left for a month long trip to Europe. I was extremely glad that I did not have to lug my regular hp lap top through the airport.. everyone knows how you have to unfortunately take your computer out and put it in a seperate bin through security which can be a great hassle especially if you have other carry on stuff and at the same time taking your shoes off! It was so easy to just to carry around my mini hp everywhere and it would have been extremely difficult for anyone to know I had a computer on me so my fears of it being stolen were def. minimized. It also fit in hotel safes!

The Hewlett Packard Mini Notebook isn't a bad little computer. It's nice and small, easy and lightweight to carry. My biggest problem with the computer is the space button, and the slow internet speed. We have another old laptop that is used in our house, and I prefer it over the new HP Mini for sure. The space button doesn't work most of the time; you have to practically punch it to space between words, or hit it dead straight in the middle. Also, we have high speed internet, so we figured this being a brand new computer, it would be fast, but instead, it lags, and every page takes forever to load, if it even does. Maybe it's just our computer. Since we bought ours at Circuit City's closeouts, we couldn't take it back, so for all I know, we just got a defective one. It was fairly cheap, under $500. It's hard for me to type on, since the keyboard is a bit small. I guess I'm just used to my bigger laptop with it's bigger computer. The screen is really nice, and graphics look great when they...

I have had my net book since December. I love it. it is affordable, and meets my needs. Great for internet users.

Why I love my netbook - Its small so I travel with it on almost all my trips. great in airports. it's great for when I'm cooking and need a recipes. I love being able to sit in front of the TV and be on facebook at the same time. it fast and easy to carry around, it fits in a potable car DVD player case. one of the selling points was that is comes with window XP and not vista. my husband and I don't like vista.

One thing that you will have to get use to is it is so small that it does not come with a CD drive.

It may seem as if Hewlett-Packard is arriving somewhat late to the Netbook game with its Mini 1000, but the company's business division has offered a similar system, the 2133 Mini-Note PC since the spring of this year. That model scored points with the best Netbook keyboard we've seen and a solid metal construction, but the wimpy VIA processor (and a higher price than other Netbooks) kept it from being a top contender.

This new consumer version has a nearly identical design, but in lightweight plastic (its body is also slightly thinner). The large, comfortable keyboard remains--and is the Mini 1000's best feature--while the CPU has been upgraded from the Via C7-M to the Intel Atom. At $549, our review unit is about $50 more than our self-imposed Netbook price cap, and it surpasses the $500 mark without including a pricey, yet preferred (for a Netbook), solid-state drive. Our model features a 60GB (spinning) hard drive; SSD options up to 16GB are available.

The mini HP 1000 laptop is awesome! I actually have the 10 inch because it just seems to be better to use. The 8.9 inch screen just doesn't seem big enough. This laptop of easy to use and has a larger keyboard than the acer mini laptops. This laptop travels well and is pretty durable. The only downside is that the screen tends to get a lot of finger prints. But I would just recommend purchasing a screen protector, which doesn't cost that much. The scroll bar on the mouse pad is very sensitive, so if you decide to use it, just don't move to quick and be gentle. It can be quite annoying after a while. I just connect my mouse to the usb and it solves the problem. This laptop also has a mini webcam with an okay quality camera. But I rarely use it. This is one of the best mini laptops out there.
