HateHawaiianAir says "Avoid Hawaiian Air at all costs!" about Hawaiian Airlines

Avoid Hawaiian Airlines at all costs!!! Their customer service policies are the worst. Had a medical emergency requiring hospitalization. Change fees $600 but "refundable" once you fill out their form and have the doctor sign. You can not find their form on their website (there is NO link to it), you have to get the URL from a customer service agent over the phone. So we filled out the form, doctor signed, etc and despite them charging us the very next day for these fees, their "policy" is refunds by 30 days. What? You're kidding me. Take my money right away but when a legitimate, qualiying incident requires a refund they sit on your money for 30 days? I think not. I made plenty of "noise", emailed, faxed and called...all to no avail. I finally told them if not refunded within 48 hours I was going to file small claims action. Guess what, an hour after that call I FINALLY got an email stating they have approved the refund. Oh, but not for the $600 we paid, they kept $150 and only are refunding...
...

My husband and I decided to tatke a trip to Hawaii. We were going to book through a different airline, when we discovered Hawaiin airlines. Their prices were cheaper, so we booked our flight.

When we got on our flight the attendant's were excellent. They were super friendly and were willing to get you anything you needed. The food was all right for airline food. There was a movie that you could watch if you wanted to. The seats weren't to bad.
...

proview says "Hawaiian Airlines most affordable to Hawaii" about Hawaiian Airlines

I take the time to do a lot of research when it comes to travel. I had to find an affordable flight to get our daughter over to Hilo back in August to got off to college. I used all of the tools out there like Priceline etc. along with going directly through the actual airline sites. By far Hawaiian Air was the least expensive airline over from CA. She had more luggage than a typical traveler due to going off to school & with all of the extra fees the airlines are charging everyone, Hawaiian was still less expensive in that area too. We lucked out at the ticket counter, the ticketing agent realized she was going over to start college & took pity on us & didn't charge us any extra baggage fees on the flight over.

Our daughter said the flight was good & the attendants were pleasant. She did have to change planes at Honolulu & this flight was fine too. This was her first time flying by herself & she had no problems at all.

When she came back in December she did have to...
...

I flew on HI air this summer with a group of teachers. I had heard a lot of bad things about HI air and was hesistant to fly with them. The flight was booked through a trip coordinator so I had no day in the matter.

I was so pleased with the service, the plane and the flight in general I would love to fly Hi Air whenever possible. There was a wide variety of snacks to choose from and the flight attendants were very efficient.

I also loved the fact that there was a TV in every seat with satellite television. Also accessablility to XM radio. This made the flight extremely enjoyable.
...

I have been flying with Hawaiian Airlines for many years. I have never once been on a delayed or cancelled flight. I always get the same service and smiles when I check in and the flight attendants are always friendly. Once my luggage was misplaced, however they delivered it to my house within 3 hours of my flight. Now that's what I call service....

LMI-S260 says "If you are in Hawaii, Hawaiian Airlines is the airline of choice" about Hawaiian Airlines

If you are interested in flying for a reasonable price and traveling in style and comfort, Hawaiian Airlines is the only choice you'll ever have to make. Hawaiian Airlines remembers and epitomizes the spirit of the Hawaiian Islands, unlike it's so called competitors who sacrifice comfort and customer service for the same cost as Hawaiian. Hawaiian is an airline that cares about its customers and tries to make every aspect of travel as easy as possible: from the user friendly website to the smiling faces at the check in counter to the wonderful, helpful flight attendants on board. There is no other airline like it in Hawaii and perhaps the nation. It is in a league of their own, and I am a very gracious, loyal customer for over thrity years!
...

rglick says "Hawaiian Air dumps on its best customers" about Hawaiian Airlines

I've only flown Hawaiian Air for over a decade. I have been a Pualani Platinum member for years. I feel that for the first time Hawaiian Air no longer values its best customers. Our miles have been essentially been devalued. We pay two to three times more for tickets and they have significantly raised the number of miles across the board. They used the excuse of higher fuel costs. I don't see the correlation to the mileage program. For example, I use to be able to upgrade to first class the day of the flight for 15,000 miles, now its 25,000 miles. This is a seat that wasn't sold. What's that got to do with fuel cost? If you are as angry about the new policies as I'm, I urge you to file a complaint with their consumer affairs office. You can call them at 888-246-8526. It only takes a couple of minutes. If they hear from enough of us, maybe they will get the message....

Hawaiian Airlines has a full schedule of interisland flights, and they always run on time, based on my experience as a frequent Hawaii visitor. I have never flown them on their flights to the mainland or west across the Pacific. The experience on the interisland flights is pleasant for an airline. They also have reserved seats, which Aloha did not have before it went out of business....

I recently returned from a trip to Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines. I had been to Hawaii before using another airline which i will not mention. The difference between the Flight Attendants was like "night and day." The Flight Attendants on Hawaiian Air were always visible going up and down the aisles looking out for the comfort of their passengers. They were constantly feeding everyone and giving us whatever drinks we requested. It made the whole trip seem faster and much more pleasant. I will book again on Hawaiian Air!...

I was trying to get to Hawaii with my wife and we were flying Delta on a company pass from Atlanta as I am a retired airline employee. We could not get on any Dl flight and my son got on the internet and found Hawaii Air with seats available from Pdx to Hnl,so I call Res and the price was close to what was on the internet and I say okay and the guy in reservations says my tickets will be on hold in Pdx the next morning.I offered to give him my credit card #but he says just to pay in Pdx on Thursday morning as this is Wednesday,May 21st.We go to Dl counter and change our passes to Pdx and leave at 845 est,When we arrive in Pdx the hawaiian air counter is closed,so we go to our hotel spend the night and arrive at their counter 7AM ON THE 22ND.We were then informed that our res had been canx as we had not picked up our tickets by 2130 on the 21st.We were in the air between Atl and Pdx at this time. The counter agent informed me that they had seats but the cost would be twice as much as I......

Well when I first decided to go with them I decided to because of their cheap prices I got. All of the workers were friendly and everything went smootly. I feel the quality of everything was great for the price I got it for. You could have expected things to be much worse for the price you got but everything turned out to be incredible. I would fly with them again if I had the chance and the best thing of all there were no delays because all of the other flights i have ever been on have had delays....
