I went to Bikeweek in Daytona this last weekend and had no plans at all to purchase a new bike. For the last year I have been riding a Honda VTX 1300 R and have been very pleased with it. I was just looking around and bike and came across the 09 Road King in Gold Flake Pearl/Pewter. I immediately fell in love with the looks. The salesman came up to me and made me an offer and couldn't refuse and ended up riding it out the door that friday night. My plan was to stay at Bikeweek until Sunday.....but I just couldn't wait to get that bike out on the road. I rode most of the day saturday around Daytona and then decided to ride it back home that night. I made the 200 mile trip across the state and it was like being in heaven on 2 wheels. The only negative I have about the bike is the stock seat is a little tall for my small 5'9" frame and my feet barely touch the ground. I will have to have it lowered or purchase a lower profile seat. After the ride home, I didn't have that......

2009 Harley Davidson Road King Classic

The Touring line of Harley-Davidsons have been totally re-engineered for 2009 yet they have very little difference in appearance from last year's models maintaining excellent continuity with the gorgeous good looks of the Harley full dressers.

One of the main changes has been a complete redesign of the frame geometry making the bike handle better than the older big Hogs. The materials and manufacturing processes are upgraded also, making it better quality than before.

The 2009 Road King Classic is an old familar model very similar in appearance to a 1960s police bike, yet the power and handling has it all over the old Harley cruiser. In addition to the redesigned frame the bike has bigger tires including a massive 180 mm on the rear and a 130 mm on the front, both wide whitewalls in keeping with the traditional look of the big Harley Road King.

Power is generated by a 96 cubic inch fuel injected V-Twin with a Cruise Drive six-speed transmission......
