the first toaster had a slight problem; one of the tabs wouldnt stay down.

it was immediately replaced by Sears and the second toaster worked beautifully.

The toaster weorks very well when new.. gets uneven over daily use. Since it is not very costly, I do get a new one every two or three years.

However, when I sent it to India (220 V) it needed a high wattage transformer.. which is not easily available there. We managed to get one custom-made and it works fine now.

I am very satisfied with this purchase! It was a good buy at $30

The Hamilton Beach Toaster is a very good product. I have had mine for about 5 to 7 years now and it is still working great. I like the big slots so that you can toast bagels and it has 4 slots so you can toast more than 2 pieces at a time. It is a good name brand and last a long time. Mine has been moved around so much and banged up and that has not effected it in any way. I would recommend this brand and this particular toaster to any body with pride. I have had a lot of toasters over the years and the Hamilton Beach Toaster has been the best one by far. It nevers fails to toast the bread just right each and every time. If you are looking for good quality in a brand name and in a toaster then this would be the one for you. It is a great product and last forever. I would recommend any product from Hamilton Beach. They have been around for a long while and their products are top quality.

I bought the Hamilton Beach toaster two months ago. So far it's a pretty good toaster. We have had several toasters they never seem to last very long so this time I decided to spend a little more money and get one that had some extra feature's. Even though this one has some I don't even think I will use. The kids use it more than I do. They like the reheat feature for cooking their toaster strudels.(those things never cook the first time) It has four large slots Big enough for the large bagels. The control panel's which includes reheat, defrost, bagel and a cancel button. There is also a browning control panel. Two crumb trays that are very easy to remove and clean. It comes in a chrome and black finish. It looks nice on the counter top. We have had a few people ask where we bought it. We have not had anything burn yet or not brown the way we wanted it to . We have not had any problems with this toaster.

I and my husband like to eat bread and bagelsa lot!! When
we tried it, we felt that we got the best thing we want. It was easy to use with lots of features!! and is also cheaper. It is not at all messy and easy wash and clean.

This is a great toaster. I love the modern look and that it has plenty of room for bagels. It toasts the bread and bagels nice and brown without burning them. And it was a great price. I got it on sale at Target. This is the best toaster I have ever had.

We have this toaster. It is ok, nothing too special. It has 4 slots which is great for a family of four and it is consistent in toasting. The crumb tray is crumby. It is too shallow, so larger crumbs get stuck and you can't get them out then the kitchen smells burnt....

This toaster has countertop appeal. I like the way it looks in our kitchen. It comes at a great price for a 4-slotted toaster with all of its features. The defrost button is handy. I put in a frozen piece of bread in a rush (because I forgot to thaw) and its comes out just right. I like that its wider for bagels. The other reviews are right, the toast is basically lauched into the air when its done, but not so high that it doesnt fall right back into its slot. It made me jump when we first got it. Now, I think its funny that it does it. It does take a little longer to toast bread, but my toast always comes out perfect because I found a setting on the dial that I like. Crumb tray is nice to have in the front and is very discrete. I've owned this for 3.5 years now, and my mother-in-law and two sister-in-laws own one. I can't say that any of us had any problems with this toaster....

I love this toaster...I love that you can pull out the crumb trays and you dont have to flip the thing upside down and use a fork to try and get it all cleaned up! It is wonderful to be able to fit the Bagels into it without having to cut it down or shove it in! LOVE...LOVE...LOVE IT!...

this is a great looking toaster with great features, but you forget you have a piece of toast in there, it takes so long to pop up, and then its not really toasted, so back down it goes. it states it has a lift up feature, forget it, if it lifts a sixteenth of an inch, thats a lot. the only good feature i find is the crumb tray is right in front and easy to clean out.

i really like the looks of it on my cupboard, but if it does not work properly or efficiently, what is the sense of having it? i would take it back in a heart beat if i know they would return it for me,...

About the Hamilton Beach Classic Chrome Extra-Wide-Slot Toaster

I bought this toaster about a year and a half ago. It is a chrome toaster that has four slots for toast bread and bagels. It has a myriad of features that I totally feel aren't necessary. There are two control panels, a cancel button (In my day, we just popped the thing up.), a browning control dial, and a bunch of buttons for reheating, defrosting, and telling the toaster you are toasting a bagel. It seems like overkill to me. The slots are extra wide and fit anything. The defrost function, which I rarely use, warms the bread then toasts it. I guess it is for frozen bread and bagels. Get this! The bagel setting toasts just the cut side and only warms the outside. That's pretty impressive but is it ALL that necessary? There are even markings to tell you how to insert bagels (!!). There is an auto shut off and crumb...
