A fantastic slow cooker that does it all. You can use it like a good old fashioned crock pot, if that's what you prefer. Just manually select the high, low, or keep warm setting. But you also have two other neat options: 1) count-down or timer mode, while using either the high or low settings, or 2) you can use the temperature probe to reach a low temperature of 160 degrees or the high setting at 180 degrees. After reaching either targeted temperature, the unit will then automatically coast into keep-warm mode. Very cool! This model is designed to automatically turn off after 14 hours of use. A rubber gasket on the lid and two clamp-down latches make this an easy slow cooker to transport without spilling the contents. We can understand why this model was recently recommended in a national consumer magazine. We highly recommend this slow cooker as well. It's an easy-to-use crock pot that is just loaded with convenient features. We love ours.

The first place our family members check for their dinner is in my Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker and it has benefited me in more ways than just the standard use. I got hooked on slow cooker's when I was working 12 hour days and I was just too tired to come home and make a hot meal. I learned way back than to throw everything into the slow cooker before I was off to work and by the time I'd get home....we would all have a ready meal. You can never over cook or burn your food in a slow cooker, in fact the meat tastes better because it is tender and melts in your mouth. Now that I am disabled and stay at home...My Hamilton Beach is like my best friend. I am on medication and must rest during the day. Again, I can stick just about anything in the crock pot in the AM and not have to worry about it until the family sits down for dinner. In the summer, when noone wants to use a traditional oven which makes a house too hot~~~~Hamilton Beach is the answer. I got an Excellent Name Brand...

I purchased the Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker several months ago and it is wonderful. I love the different settings. It is important to fill it at least half way, but that's true of most slow cookers as they will over cook the food.

Manual setting - High or Low is one option. It will switch to warm or off after 14 hours. Using the probe on a roast will cook it until it reaches the proper temperature. You set the temp, but there's a guide on the see-through lid giving the correct temperature for different meats. Very handy. The last setting is timed. You can set it to cook on high for 6 hours,then it will turn to warm.

Since the crock pot is removable, it's very easy to wash. It's dishwasher safe, but takes up so much room that I usually just wash it by hand.

Overall a great crockpot. Attractive and easy to operate.

I was never a fan of crockpots but it may have just been I didnt use a good one plus I'm a hands on kind of cook . I broke down and bought the Hamilton Beach Set 'n Forget 6 quart oval slow cooker and boy did it make me a fan of slow cooking. I've only used it a few times since I bought it but I am looking forward to trying new things. ...

I like when you can cook by temperature rather than low, medium, and high. What actual temperatures are they? But for people used to the traditional slow cooker, you can use it that way, too. Nice looking design and has removable crock for easy clean up. Has rubber feet for non slip on counter top/table. Glass lid so you can see your food as it cooks, no peeking and letting all your heat out....
