I love smoothies but don't love paying the high prices for them at franchise establishments. I also didn't like not knowing exactly what was going into the over the counter smoothies.

With a few inexpensive and fresh ingredients, the Hamilton Beach Personal Blender allows me to create the smoothie I want, instead of picking out a flavor from a fixed list, and I can control the amount of fruit (lots of strawberries, cut up) and sugar (less of it).

The Hamilton Beach Personal Blender is a great product for many reasons. For those of us who only need to make one drink, the size is perfect. And with the smaller size comes the smaller price tag. I couldn't see paying a lot of money for a full size blender that I will be using for a single drink. The idea of cleaning it out after one serving seemed like a burden. Call me lazy, but sometimes it just doesn't seem worth the trouble.

Another great thing about the Hamilton Beach Personal Blender is that it turns into a travel cup, complete...
...

I bought this so I could make fruit smoothies; but shortly after I turned it on, it started smoking. A blender has to be durable enough to last for more than just a few minutes; especially when I only had fruit in there; not something more difficult to cut through....

I looked at the Hamilton Beach Personal Blender. Then I went back and looked again. And again. Finally I decided to go ahead and buy it. After all, it was only $16 or so.

The little blender is designed to make small amounts of blended foods. Think smoothies or milkshakes for one person here. Of course, there are a good number of things that can be mixed up. Just don't try to food process thick bread dough or crush ice. This is not a power blender. It's a personal blender.

I mostly use this to make fruit smoothies. It comes with some recipes, and there are loads of other receipes online. I've had great fun trying out different healthy drinks though I have a hard time making myself NOt buy the fruit flavored swiss yogurt for my base. That's some great stuff but has a lot of sugar.

Once I blend up my drink, then I just take the blender off the base. It's the cup and has a travel lid. Now, that's just great. Very easy. Makes it much more likely that I'll get it out and use it.

I don't think...
...
