Hairspray is a great movie that is based on the stage production under the same name. It was written by John Waters (Pink Flamingos). It is an extremely fun movie that has a great cast and wonderful music.

The actors have great chemistry and really bring the movie to life. Plus John Travolta (Grease) is an extra bonus in drag. It has an all star cast that includes: Zack Efron (High School Musical), Queen Latifah (Chicago), Michelle Pfeiffer (Dangerous Minds), Christopher Walken (Click), Amanda Bynes (She's the Man), James Marsden (X-Men), Brittany Snow (Prom Night). This was the first movie Nikki Blonsky ever did and it was considered to be a breakout performance.

The music and choreography are great in this movie. My daughter loves to watch this movie and always dances and sings along.

All the characters are great in Hairspray. The movie is entertaining & fun. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who doesn't like musicals, or predictable movies. The casting is great. Thought it was terrific using Jerry Stiller & John Waters in the film since both were in the 1989 version. Great attention to detail with the sets & props. Really looked like Baltimore in the 1960's

Hairspray is the story of Tracey Turnbald who wants more then anything to be on her favorite dance show the Conry Collins show, She has the right stuff but because of her size the TV producer Velma wants her no where near the show. But Corny sees something in her and puts her on the show.

This cast was great Nikki Blonsky, Zac Efron, John Trolavta, Queen Laftia and some much more of an amazing cast. This movie will make any one of happy and make them think of a better tomorrow

"Hairspray"
This movie is great! The cast was exceptional! The characters were completly beliveable. They did a great job with this remake It was fun and lively and still as funny as ever! John Travolta is one of my favorites... The character that he played was so funny, I don't know how he did it without laughing through the whole thing. Christopher Walken was really good also. His dry humor is always so funny! I also liked now comer Amanda Bynes, she did a great job in her role, I hope she doesn't get type cast. A+...

Hairspray in the 70's is a great classic. But now it has been up dated and is bounceing to a new tone. This movie is one you can watch as many times as you want and it will never get boring. You can help but move and sing in your seat. You almost want to just bust a move!

This movie is for all ages. We all know it is hard to find a movie for grandpa and Your 10 year old daughter but this movie like i said tackles all ages and both sex's.

Hairspray is terrific and the singing and dancing, even better. There is a lot of humor if you can catch it all. The songs make me want to get up and dance. I bought the cd right away and still enjoy singing along....

The movie musical "Hairspray" is an incredible combination of the past and the contemporary. It blends a segment of American history with fascinating rhythm! A better cast could not have been chosen to portray the story of a teenage girl who's dream is to overcome the standard ideals of the American society. Besides setting new standards for what the American girl should look like, Tracy also takes her stand against segregating blacks and whites. This is an All-American feel good movie that makes anyone believe that anything is possible!...

Most excellent movie! Just seeing John Travolta in drag was pretty cool. (lol) Actually enjoyed watching this movie and with comedy to boot. The roles seemed to match each character to a tee. Only regret was that some of the songs seem kinda lame at some points but overall and excellent movie. I have recommended this movie to several friends and even have it on DVD....

I loved this movie from the first cathy tune. I thought the singing was great, the storyline good. Amanda Bynes was a fun character, Britny snow was a girl you wanted to hate, and michele pfiefer was even nastier. John travolta was pretty darn funny as a woman. If you like catchy musicals this is a must see....

although john travolta did awesome as edna and i loved james marsden in the movie who knew he could dance like that and he was a perfect choice his face is chisled just right for a 50's tv host, ofcourse the queen was wonderful as always but i thought the movie was slow it took forever to get it over with just not that great probably wouldn't ever watch it again....

This movie is absolutely amazing. It is full of great actors and actresses. I was a bit skeptical about going to see this movie at first because I am not that big on musicals. I watched it and absolutely loved it. I have seen it about 5 times have the dvd, and the soundtrack (which is also great). It is full of great catchy music. Plus John Travolta plays a woman! Of course it is one of those movies with a happy ending!:)...
