My cats are messy eater. They knock food all over the place and were constantly getting it into their water bowl. As I could not move them any father apart, I felt like I was washing out the water bowl ever day. And since they were always so small, I had to refill them often too. The CatIt Drinking Fountain solved those problems.

First, any food that falls in gets pulled against the filter. They don't seem to be getting that much food into it which may be due to the fact that the sides are so much taller than their old bowl.

Second, I only have to add water ever few days. When I change out the filter, I fill the dome up with water as directed. However, because it is a bit difficult to sit the dome down properly on the base, I don't bother filling it that way again until it is time to change the filter. I just grab a full glass of water and pour it into the reservoir. I'm usually getting a glass for myself anyway so it is no big deal to give the cats some more water first....
...

Pamper your pet with fresh water
Catit Cat Drinking Water Fountain by Hagen

I wanted a way to provide fresh water for my cats at all times. I searched on the internet and found the Catit system. It took my cats a couple of days to actually approach the fountain as they were a little scared of it, but they now love it! There is a water reservoir that refills the fountain as the cats drink. There is a pump that pushes water over the dome. There is also a filter to keep the water fresh. The fountain even keeps water at a cooler temperature which my cats seem to appreciate :) I recommend this for cats or dogs.
...

The Catit Drinking Fountain is the second waterer I have purchased. My older cat uses it but my younger cat is not happy with it. It is messy to refill and you have to have patience to get the top in the correct place so the water will run. Also, it has an annoying loud hum. I had the Petmate waterer which didn't last six months. I have now purchased a Drinkwell and will be trying that....

SophieSweetie says "Flowing water for even the pickiest cat!" about Hagen Catit Drinking Fountain

The Catit Drinking Fountain was a life saver for us!

Our elderly cat had always preferred running water to a bowl of still water, but as she got older, she had a hard time drinking out of the bowl - I don't think she could see the water very well. She took to pawing the water, which oftentimes left us with more mess and no water in the bowl!

The Catit really caught my attention, because it allows the cat(s) to either drink from the reservoir, or to lap the water running over the surface of the dome. I felt this item would be the best for our old lady, so I purchased it.

It worked out great! It holds quite a bit of water, for starters, and it is so quiet! The only time it makes noise is when it gets low on water - which is really a good indicator that you need to refill the dome. There's a filter on the edge of the outer reservoir that the water flows through - it does a great job of catching all of the food particles and hair that make their way into the water.

The cost of the fountain was......
