I received the hp LaserJet 1020 printer as a gift for Christmas last year. I was use to ink jet printers in the past. Well, since I have started using my new LaserJet printer, I would never go back to the old standard of ink jet. The printer provides a sharp and crisp copy. The LaserJet 1020 can spit out my printed document in like three seconds. There are many options that you can change in the properties. Either way you look at it, the copy is prestine! I use my LaserJet 1020 all the time. I do a lot of work at home, and having this printer is a blessing. Sometimes I have to print ten page reports. With the LaserJet, it is a breeze. My kids use the printer for their school work. Both of them have commented on how fast that the LaserJet is. Changing the toner is also very easy. The LaserJet 1020 is fantastic in my opinion. I would recommend this printer to anyone that just needs a printer due to the fact that it only has capabilities of printing and not copying or scanning. I have always...

We liked out HP LaserJet 1020 Printer so much that we've got two. They are easy to setup/install, take up very little space and have wonderful print quality. The only downside is the cost of the cartridge refills which is over half the cost of a new printer (on sale)....

I received this HP LaserJet 1020 Printer as a Birthday gift. It is a Life saver. I occasionally purchase the Ink Replacement Cartridges and the perfection of word printing is wonderful; no fuzz, great clarity. I enjoy using this printer when it comes time to replace it, I may just purchase another to replace the original! The HP company updates the drivers in the computer system when upgrading HP Programs, and they send out listings for ordering products and discounts that allow me to order supplies directly from the manufacturer. Convenient....

If you are looking for a reliable and crisp laser color printer, this HP is the one you are seeking! I have only had mine for 3 days now and extremely surprised by the quality of the crispness of the colors. It prints like a professional photo printer, if not better! It is not the best printer in the world. It even is not the best laser printer. But it does the job for me.

Its first advantage is its price. It is affordable for everyone with a price of around $170-190.
It is also very economical. With FastRes 1200 dpi effective print quality, HP LaserJet 1020 produces high quality of text and images. The technologies in this printer allow the user to print everything from business documents to clipart images at a very low cost. Its cartridge allows to print up to 2, 000 pages.

The second important thing is that it is very compact. I have very little place in my home office so I needed a compact printer. Its dimensions are 370 by 242 by 209 mm (W by D by H).

And it is quite fast - it prints 15 pages per minute and delivers the first page in less than 10 seconds.

It has two input slots: one for 150 sheets and one primary slot for 1 sheet and one output slot for 100 sheets. It supports nearly all paper formats: I have used it for printing on plain paper, envelopes,......

It's cheap, it's fast, it prints well, but it does not work out of the box on Linux systems, as it's using a proprietary printing system that requires an unofficial reverse-engineered driver for CUPS.
Even with the driver, the USB connection with the host system "decades" after sometime, forcing to power cycle the printer.
HP as a lot of more Linux friendly printer, so if you need to use it on Linux, choose another one.

This is a great printer. I use it regularly with Ubuntu Linux and I have never had a problem. The speed is just fine and the price was great....
