brinkhaven says "The Heatsurge more than doubled my electric bill." about HEATSURGE PREMIUM AMISK OAK FIREPLACE

I purchased the Heatsurge to help cut down on my use of fuel oil because prices had more than doubled to heat my home. Heatsurge claimed their heater would use no more electric than a coffeemaker used. Then when I received my electric bill it had jumped from an average of $70.00 to $160.00. I guess they didn't specify how large that coffeemaker was. The only room it kept warm was the room it was in at the time. But it was on wheels so you could move it from room to room pretty easy. The only two things I liked about it was the looks. Kinda relaxing to watch the fake fire flames , and they did refund all my purchase price including the shipping. If all your looking for is good looks this one's for you. Otherwise don't waste your time and money. Another thing I didn't like was that I live in the same state and county and they still charged me for shipping even though they delivered it to my house in their truck and cost them maybe $10.00 in gas. I guess anything to make a little more...
...

Bought the Heat Surge last winter to warm my kitchen, which is always cold. It puts out good heat, and is stylish. Have had many compliments on this piece. I'd highly recommend it.
...

I bought a heat surge heater (the special one with the so called Amish mantel) last fall. What a rip off. First of all the oak cabinet is not made by the Amish as it it put together with staples. The Amish use either wooden pegs and glue.or screws..no nails or staples. Secondly..it is not engery efficient like they say it is..my electric bill has been out of site the past 2 months. It is nice and cozy looking but does not give off the heat as they stated.Don't be fooled by the advertizements that you are getting something free cause in the end you are paying more than if you went to the store and bought it....

OUR HEATSURGE FIREPLACE was bought to help heat a room in our house that is used only at certain times. This heater has done it all with style and functions that are great around small kids and cute pets. With an automactic shutoff when tilted and cool to the touch, I feel it is very safe and I don't have to worry about my kids touchihg it. We liked it so much that we got one for my Mom and we hope to get a couple more in the future. I highly recommend this heater for its "curb appeal" and it ability to heat a room when needed.
...
