The Snugride is one of the most popular infant seats around and not by accident. I've used 3 different infant seats and this is the easiest one to use properly. That said - MAKE SURE to get one with a front-adjust option (the strap hanging down out of the bottom that you use to pull the straps tight). The base installs easily into any vehicle (I installed it in a van, full-sized SUV, compact SUV and sedan) and the seat isn't too heavy. It's long enough that your baby can fit in it for quite a while. It has also performed well in crash tests, unlike it's Safe Seat counterpart.
...

MrsTate says "I love the Graco Snugride because its the only one you need" about Graco SnugRide

I love that with the Snugride you can have a rear facing car seat when you bring your new baby home, then when they are big enough to have a forward facing car seat you do not have to rush out and spend even more money, expecially, when like me you don't have the extra money to spend. The snugride is simple, there is a flap that comes down. When the flap is up, you put the car seat in backwards and the car seat leans back like a regular infant carrier carseat. With the flap down and the car seat facing forwards it sits up just like many of its more expensive counterparts. I love the all Graco products though, because as a mom on a very strict budget, I see products that my children are safe in but I don't have to break the band over. If you are someone who wants the carrier to drag out of the car every time you stop the this is not the product for you, but I prefer to either directly hold my baby or have them in one of the baby slings...I feel safer the closer she is to me, so this car...
...

I was surprised at just how easy this is to use. You just click it in the base and go. We actually bought 2 bases one for each car. The pattern we got (lowery) is also very cute. Very happy with the purchase not only is it safe, easy to use, but it adds that we also like the pattern. Plus the baby loves it!
...

I love this car seat. It is not only really cute and fashionable it looks really comfortable to ride in, which is the only way I would want my baby to ride. It seems to be made with quality, comes in great colors that go with anything. The material inside feels really comfortable and soft and snugs the baby just right. I am very happy with my purchase and If I had the chance to do it all over again I definitely would. I looked at many car-seats before the purchase of this one and fell in live with this one the best. I also read many reviews before purchasing a car seat you can never be too careful when purchasing something for your baby and I think that reading reviews is a great way to see what other people think about the item to give you an idea of what to expect before the purchase of something new. To figure out the pros and cons of the item. And then you can check out there reasons for likes and dislikes. This really is a great car-seat to chose.
...

We found this car seat (new) at a good price and it was a gender neutral color, so we bought it. My issues with the seat were purely inconveniences. I have no issue with the structural safety of this seat.

My problems with it came in the fabric cover. It wrapped around the seat and was slightly elastic at the bottom to keep it secured around the bottom of the seat. It never stayed. Not from the first month! When my baby would move her legs, it would come undone and the fabric would bunch up underneath her. As she got bigger, it got more and more stretched out. And it was padded, but the padding (which was basically just batting) was not encased at all. So as soon as it came loose from underneath the seat, she could reach under there and pull out the batting while we drove. Several times I found the "stuffing" in her mouth when we got home. Ewwww!

If you are looking into this or a similar seat, I would make sure that the fabric cover can secure with hooks or clips or...
...

smallfry588 says "good for small babies" about Graco SnugRide

I was very pleased that the car seats easily fit to my newborn twins who were 5lbs. 10oz. The carseat we used for our first child was an evenflo and even though our son was 7lbs 7oz he was almost too small to fit snug and safely in it. The Snugride was perfect for small newborn. The only complaint I have about it is that it will not fit onto many shopping carts, such as WalMart buggies. Also the handles are sometimes hard to push down. The color wasn't at all what we expected. There was too much of the plaid print and not enough of the small white polka dot print. It was also too sea-greenish for me. We absolutely don't like having to adjust the straps from the back. Our other seat has the strap adjuster by the feet and is much easier to work with. I love this brand and the price was right, but we need it to function for us. I have a 2 yr old son who can sit in the front of the stroller that goes with the car seat and my new born is right up the front with me. Its very durable and light....
...

The Graco SnugRide is the market leading seat. Its lightweight, easy to assemble and take apart, well priced and comes in numerous colors and patterns. A key feature is that is can also be used in a car without its base, which is very important if you want the ability to put the seat in someone else's car or if taxis are your primary form of transportation (i.e. New York City). The Graco SnugRide also fits very well with all of the universal infant seat carriers and comes with a carrying handle for your convenience when transporting your baby. Another thing we loved was the sunshade which was great for keeping sun out of our kids eyes and helping with the wind in the winter weather. This is the infant seat we used very happily with all three of our children. which offers the ability to fit infants up to about a year old (32 pounds and 32" tall). While this is a nice benefit in theory, most parents will find that it's just too difficult to carry a seat around with a 20lb + infant.,...
...

mommyHope says "Comfy For Baby and Parent" about Graco SnugRide

I bought the Graco Snugride for everyday use, and I love it. it's smaller than some other car seats (I have a Peg Perego that I use on Sundays), it is comfy for the baby, it's in the perfect position, not too upright for a newborn like the Peg Perego is. It is easy to carry for the parent (easier than most carseats) and It's one of the car seats that will fit right in a shopping cart when you take your little one to go shopping with you. I love it that you could use it with a base, or without, and it's really easy to buckle up without a base, my husband loves it... he sometimes complains about the Peg Perego one since we use it without a base on Sundays. It's one of those car seats which you can use with just about any stroller as a travel system, which is probobly why it's so popular. Also, what's great about this car seat is that there is a pattern or color of the carseat for everyone's taste. Cute and practical!
...

We have always been big fans of Graco products! This infant carrier/carseat definitely holds its own in the line up! We were extremely pleased when we received our three infant carriers from Walmart.com (plus .97 shipping, you can't beat!). The color of the pinks in the carseat were even better in person! Not only are these carseats adorable, but they also are excellent as far as safety features go. You will definitely get your moneys worth out of these...and more. The harnesses are very secure, yet easy for an adult to release when needed. The material is very easy to remove for washing purposes. We loved this product so much that we also purchased pack n plays from the same Graco line!

An excellent carseat...
...

cleo0926 says "Goos lightweight seat, but adjuster stinks" about Graco SnugRide

This is a good, lightweight seat. Its also a cute seat. We bought it for our 4th child. Even with her in it, its not heave. The thing that I dont care for is the adjuster is in the back of the seat. You lave to lean the seat over in order to adjust it. Its harder to adjust it without the baby in it. You can do it with a baby in it, but you have to rock it over on the front side.

It does snap well into the base that you leave in the car. It also snaps good to most shopping carts. I know that then I put it in the cart, sometimes it leans back more than level or forward. With a newborn that would be ok, but a 5 month old wants to be snoopy and look around.

Would I recommend this to a friend. Yes i would. The seat has a leveler on it, so you know when the seat is sitting correctly in there. It alsofits in a few different strollers that we have looked at and tried it in.

I have a friend that is having a baby in May and if she has a boy, i will tell her to get one like mine, but if its a girl,...
...

This was the first car seat I bought for my daughter, and I was very happy with it! It was extremely inexpensive, which is a plus. It was also very safe. The carrying handle was very convenient for when we needed to take her into a store or restaurant. The patterns to choose from are very stylish. It was easy to install the base and then pop the car seat in the base. The only flaws were that the straps twisted easily, and it was very difficult to tighten the straps because the tightening had to be done from behind, which is difficult when the car seat is rear facing. It also lacked head support. Her head flopped to the side when she fell asleep until I bought her an additional head support. But overall, a very nice car seat! It was kind of heavy, and I had to give it away once she got to be about 15 pounds because it was just too heavy to carry. It is perfect for newborns though, and I was very pleased.
...
