GrandmaIsGod says "Great web-browsers with no thrills." about Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a very simple and easy internet Browser. It is easier to use the Internet whatever. There are no toolbars that continuallyt want to add themselves to it.

You still get you Favorites and you can also have it save you passwords and logins. The new tab is a better set up the Internet and Internet 8 even takes after it.

It makes browsing and searching much easier and faster. If you already use Google search engine and gmail then this is just a logical extension of your Google experience.

There are only a few sites that I have found that doesn't work well with Google Chrome so I still keep Internet but I don't use it unless I have too. Google Chrome just makes it so much easier.
...

TheBard says "Chrome is a Decent Browser, But I'll Stick with I.E." about Google Chrome

Bottom-Line: All-n-all, I like Google Chrome, but not enough to switch from a browser I now know intimately and well.

I have used some form of Microsoft's Internet Explorer since it was released in the mid '90's. Granted the browser interface was clunky, slow, ugly, and not very user friendly, but the alternative, Netscape Navigator wasn't much better. And besides I.E. was free!

That earlier release of I.E. was based upon the Mosaic web browser developed at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications' (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. But the now mostly used browser has gone through much iteration's since then, not all of them good, but I.E. is a fairly decent browser, and it remains free!

Netscape Navigator has long since vanished from the browser field of battle, leaving a scan three solid contenders: Mozilla Foxfire, Apple's Safari 4, and Google's newly released Chrome.

The 411

Chrome is a web browser released by Google which uses the WebKit...
...

vivasuzi says "There's no debating that it's faster.... but it's not great yet" about Google Chrome

I decided to try Google Chrome because I love Google Toolbar, Google Mail, Google Calendar, Google Bookmarks Google Documents, etc etc etc. Basically Google is my search engine of choice and my organizer of choice! However I am still not all that impressed with Google Chorme but I still use it daily.

The Good

Google Chrome is definitley faster than IE or Mozilla. A lot of times if IE seems to be hung up on a site, I'll open the site in Google Chrome and it comes up in seconds. I think it's because this browser trims off the fat of the page. Background colors and things of that nature are often missing. Things are simplified and therefore the pages load wicked fast.

I do appreciate how Google Chrome remembers my top visited or recent visited sites. Whenever I open the browser, little thumbnails are provided for a quick link to sites I've visited lately which is kind of cool.

Another good thing is that it is a nice clean and simple browser. There isn't a lot of bulk and...
...

LisaCarey says "I Feel the Need, the Need for Internet Browsing Speed " about Google Chrome

Update 4/26/09

The download function now works better- however, it is still a problem. Now you can download and you simply choose from your download folder to use the music, picture, etc. But this means that now your download folder contains SO much information. I use a great many images and now have to consistently clean out my download so as not to take up too much space. All the other comments remain the same, as does my recommendation.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Recent news articles regarding Internet Explorer and possible gaps in it's security and the recommendation of a friend caused me to try out Google Chrome, the latest in a series of Google services offered. Google Chrome is currently in beta testing and is an Internet browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari.
Things I like about Google Chrome:
it's fast - so fast that if I just need a quick search or look-see it is my browser of choice
immediate search in Google from the tool bar
easy ability to save your...
...
renodeb says "this browser flies" about Google Chrome
Google Chrome is a great browser. It moves faster than any of the other browsers I have tried. It allows you to keep lots of open sites without losing speed either on those sites or while searching other sites. I would highly recommend this browser to all Web users whether you are proficient at searches or just a beginner.
...
Meri says "Faster, Safer & Easier Google Search!" about Google Chrome
Google has come out with a Beta version of its new Search Engine: Google Chrome.
The new service is said to make your searching easier, safer and faster. It works with Windows Vista /XP SP2.
The Google site brags on these features:
Using a TAB system similar to files in a file drawer you will have instant access to your most visited sites, recently bookmarked pages and closed tabs.
Each tab runs independently in the browser so if you experience a problem crash with one tab it will not affect the other tabs.
There is a stealth mode option called INCOGNITO MODE. If you don't want your web history shown choose this mode.
Bookmarking is as simple as clicking the star icon on the left edge of the address bar. Presto! It's done.
When you download Google Chrome you are given the option to import all of your previous bookmarks and passwords from your previous browser. How easy is that?
I downloaded Google Chrome after my Poli Sci major son recommended it to me. It was easy to download and I......
