Katrena says "Donate to charity just by using GoodSearch search engine" about GoodSearch

I read about GoodSearch.com here at Viewpoints and decided to check it out a few months ago. This search engine allows users to pick a charity and they will donate money to that charity based on the amount of hits and purchases generated through this website.

About GoodSearch:

allows you to choose a charity or add one (they will verify that the charity is non-profit)

you can change charities at any time--when we do updates to our computer, often it reverts back to a default of no charity, so I encourage you to check to be sure that your charity appears in the box if you are using this site

will pay out once a year (they do have a minimum amount before paying money)

limits the type of searches you can perform (I was trying to do a search on a drink that had something like XXX on it and the site reminded me that this charitable site does not allow users to access certain types of websites--this could be good if you have problems with accessing sites that you are trying to stay away from)...

...

Goodsearch has been a great way for our charity to raise money. Granted, we haven't raised thousands, but it's the little bits that help This is something everyone can do, doesn't require much effort and takes very little time. Hey, we all search for things online anyway.
...

Goodsearch is an excellent way to give a few bucks to your favorite charity. You pick which charity you want your funds to go to and each time you do a search they get a few cents. Charities won't get rich this way, but every cent helps.
...

I volunteer for Camp Quality Texas and GoodSearch is a great way to raise some money with little effort. We sent out the link to many so they can help make our free camp available to children with cancer. They now have GoodShop and we are letting our supporters know about this as well. Another great way to help a non-profit....

GoodSearch is a place where you can do web searches and donate to charity (at no expense to you) all in the same place. All you have to do is go to GoodSearch, find the charity that you would like to support, and then complete a search. It's simple, giving, and a wonderful way to give to charity especially if money is tight....

macque says "Super easy and you choose the charity you want to support" about GoodSearch

GoodSearch is phenomenal! You choose the charity you want to support from thousands of participating organizations (schools, churches, animal welfare, and troop support to name a few).

Personally, I GoodSearch for AnySoldier.com, because I have had wonderful experiences with that organization. My son was in the Marines for 3 years, and I love the way AnySoldier lets me send care packages directly to specific deployed units, based upon their requests.

But, back to GoodSearch...it's a search engine that's powered by Yahoo! and I have it set as my default search engine on all of my computers. Each time I perform a search, a penny (or more) goes to my charity. GoodSearch also has a GoodShopping option, where merchants donate a percentage of my purchases to my selected charity. That was a bonus during the holidays. If you've got to search for something online, give GoodSearch a try! It's easy, and you are supporting the non-profit organization of your own choosing.
...

Goodsearch pays a cent to your favorite charity for every internet search you do and it doesn't cost you a thing. The money donated comes from the site's advertisers.

They also profile a different sponsored charity every day and feature success stories. More than 34,000 nonprofits were participating in GoodSearch.

What a concept! It's great being able to help while doing something I would do anyway.
...

What a wonderful way to help with much needed funding and contributions to a charity of your choice! The best part is, that it does not require that you do anything different than what you are ALREADY doing .... Searching for Information! Many of our favorite charities rely heavily on individual contributions in order that they may fund much needed research and/or funding to those in need. I get personal satisfaction knowing that when I use Goodsearch to get the information I need, I am contributing to the charity of my choice! My precious 29 year old niece died this past October 14th, after a four and 1/2 year battle with acute leukemia. She left a 15 month old baby behind to be raised by Dad. As heartbreaking as this is, I know I can continue to make a difference in her honor. You, too, CAN MAKE a DIFFERENCE; the charity is up to you to choose!
...

stef42678 says "Research for Charity" about GoodSearch

I love to do research online and have always been a Google enthusiast, until I learned about Good Search. What I love about Good Search is that charities are rewarded for your searches. I first heard about this site from a local museum I volunteer for and they said they were now on the list as a recipient of Good Search money. The site is simple and easy to use. You just go to the site which is setup like any other search engine and pick the charity you would like the profits to go too. They have so many good causes to choose from. So if you are into saving the environment, helping the homeless, or saving animals, you can find an organization. After choosing your charity, you just do searches online like normal and money from your time is donated to the charities, it is simple and a great way to do something good for a cause because these organizations are rewarded for something you are going to do anyways. The only bad part about the site is results are sometimes limited,......

AMAZING! Guilt-free consumerism at its best. The charity I chose is small and it was already listed. What I earned from shopping is posted days afterwards and the search engine is helpful. It's so easy to tell your friends too. You can switch between different charities easily....

Goodsearch is a fantastically effortless way to use a search engine to fund raise for the charity of your choice. (if you don't have a charity please consider the IFOPA.org which is a grassroots charity started by a woman with FOP-Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva, a rare disease that turns muscle into bone, locking all joints permanently, including the jaw!)

Every time you do a search money is added to the charity (or school) of your choice. The more people you involve the closer we all get to a cure. My motto is: Its a goodsearch for a good cause!
...

This is now my #1 search engine site. I use it every day. This is the easiest way to help the charity of your choice. It takes no extra effot or time on your part and both you and your charity benefit every time you search. Searching is something you are going to do anyway, if you spend any time at all on the Internet, so you might as well be doing it for a good cause. Just choose your charity, mine is St. Jude Research Hospital, and every time you search, a penny is donated to your charity. I know a penny doesn't sound like much, but they really add up!...
