My teenage daughters and I just love this show, it's a show that we can watch together and really enjoy. It has the problems that teenagers today face. We also enjoy that the show focuses on several different characters instead of just the "popular kids" of the school. We also like how each of the characters are evolving into decent, caring kids. We really enjoy the singing, but you can't just pinpoint one thing that you like about this show when the entire show is good.
...

this is the best show ever. i look foward to wednsday night just so i can watch it. i was even mad during the world series because this show was on a hiatus and i'm a baseball fan. i like how they combine the music with the actual show but it doesn't really seem like a musical. my favorite was when they did the mashups. those are fun. i just wish that they would showcase Mercedes more because she is my absolute favorite and has been since day one. and she has a great set of vocals. this is definately not for kids, but for people who like something different, it's really good. it's quirky and entertaining all rolled into one. sometimes the quirkiness even reminds me of gilmore girls. the relationship/character development is really good because you're watching them, especially Rachel, grow as people and deal with things that you would not a lot of times want to. they show how to deal with real issues in a humorous sort of way. this show is a must watch.
...

jmball06 says "Glee combines music and drama in a captivating, real-life show! " about Glee

Glee is mixture of comedy and fun, opening a door into the realm of music and theater. As a show choir, which is something that has never been featured on TV before, the characters go through their lives as they interact with each other not only in the classroom, but also in the hallways and in the "outside world." The plot twists protray reality in schools. It is not always the underdog that has issues. The popular kids are hit with problems as well. What do you do when your best friends gets kicked off of the squad, or is not responsible for something but takes the heat for it anyway? The situations are real and they are endured by kids everyday on the high school level. Teen pregnancy, bullying, high school crushes, drugs, alcohol, homosexuality, etc. These are all things that the show has and will continue to do a great job depicting in a real sense. They don't sugar coat the consequences and they don't pretend that these issues don't exist. Along with the serious issues,......

ladym33 says "Glee Is My Guilty Pleasure" about Glee

I have to admit I am hooked on Glee. Glee is a new television show about a competitive Glee club run by a teacher who was once a Glee club member himself.

I myself was in swing choir when I was in high school which is pretty much like the Glee club in the show Glee. We did not just stand in sing in choir gowns but also danced while we sang more modern songs of that day. We also competed against other swing choirs in the state.

Glee is a show that started out with a few outcasts and a teacher wanting to get a Glee club going. But it is so much more than that. Over the episodes there have been some more popular kids who joined the Glee club and they have taken some heat for it but they love the club and the kids have all grown to care about each other.

The show is a 1 hour combination of drama, comedy, and music. You can be sure to see some singing and dancing in every episode of the show, some complain that it is lip sinking but it would be hard to do such a show any other...
...

rainbocow says "GLEE is hilarious- an instant favorite" about Glee

This is my new favorite show. I discovered it while watching So You Think You Can Dance. I am not so sure these two shows appeal to the same audiences but whatever- I guess maybe they do since I love them both!

This show has the perfect mix of hillarious and story. I actually care about the characters completely. The story remains fresh and interesting every week, and there has yet to be an episode where I lost interest in the plot. It is an hour long and not long enough for me! Check it out for yourself at: www.fox.com/glee

The songs are great by the way! I have downloaded several of them from the soundtrack available on amazon.com. For example, Glees version of Taking Chances by Celine Dion is better than the original in my opinion.
...

kare620bear says "Weird, but great!" about Glee

When I saw all the previews for Glee, I thought it was just going to be another stupid show that would end up being canceled. Just so happens I was watching American Idol the night Glee premiered. For some reason I couldn't help but watch, maybe out of curiosity. I found myself to be quite entertained, especially since I'm a huge Journey fan and they were playing their music...a lot.

It took a bit of a hiatus until the fall season started. I picked it up wondering if it was going to be a one hit wonder. You know, the pilot is great then the rest of the episodes stink. Thankfully it wasn't. I have to admit I find this show to be a bit weird at times, but completely entertaining as well. There is nothing else like it one TV today.
...

brattymom says "Glee is a breath of fresh air in TV Land." about Glee

Glee is written by the folks who have been doing Nip/Tuck and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that they could take the talent they have from a fairly risque late night program and curb it into this fun light show that breathes life into Wednesday night viewing again. The characters are quirky yet relatable in ways and their interactions are sometimes predicatble but leave you wanting to see what happens next week. I love the musical numbers they do and the twists on current music keeps it fresh so the entire family looks forward to see what they are doing this week. My favorite so far is when the football team performed to Beyonce. The song and choreography was superior. Who ever comes up with this part of the show is well deserving of an Emmy. I look forward to the season to see what happens to Quinn's baby and who finally hooks up with who. Maybe Dr. Troy should make a guest appearance...
...

Leda1 says "Glee is a hour of relaxing, enjoyable tv" about Glee

I started watching Glee last season because I enjoy modern musicals such as Grease and Highschool Musical. The story is great with a bunch of talented misfit kids who are struggling not only with their adolesence but also with their talent.

Then you gotta love the crazy variety of teachers, from army strict to fun loving to nurotic, the mix makes a very interesting and funny plot.

I like that the show deals with some real issues that teenagers are strugging with today and how they try to handle them while keeping up their grades and staying involved in the Glee club, sports and cheerleading.

The kids are excellent singers and entertainers. I won't be surprised to see one or more of them get discovered in the music world and be quite successful.

I think the reason I really enjoy Glee is because it is just plain fun to watch. Most tv shows today are reality or crime related but this one is so different that you just get pulled into the pure entertainment factor. Enjoy
...

jvan8829 says "So good-it has it all!" about Glee

This review is on the television show "Glee."

This show is great! It has received so much hype, and I have to say it is really living up to it for me.

It involves a high school Spanish teacher. He decides to direct the glee club at his school. The club has your typical group-the shy, stuttering girl who can only emote through song; the effeminate gay male who shows his true side through the club; the sassy girl with the big voice; the jock who crosses over to the other side; the talented girl who is a little stuck on herself.

Sure its filled with songs and dances, but there is so much more. There are relationships; there is soap opera worthy melodrama (a fake pregnency!); love triangles (two of them!); and other high school dramas. But what could be too over the top comes across as so entertaining and so endearing, you will love it! And be forewarned-whatever song they end the show with will be stuck in you head for days!
...

Kathmonster says "Great new show - for adults" about Glee

I first saw the trailer for "Glee" on the computer. Caught my eye because I sang in high school and the music playing caught my ear. Watched the premier episode - and I was hooked! Loved the music, very current. The story lines were very interesting. Funny in a grown up way. Laughing at the extreme characters - like Sue C. the cheer coach - funny with that edge that makes you say, I remember someone just like that! It's that little bit of tweaking that makes this a comedy, very tongue in cheek, but also a drama in that this stuff really happens!

My only warning - this is for adults and mature teens. Last night there was a teen pregnancy introduced. The premier show has a teen make-out seen where Finn - the football player who likes to sing - suffers premature ejaculation. Not the stuff my 13 year old daughter needs to watch! She saw the football players dancing to the Beyonce tune and came running into my room. I let her watch that scene but I admonished her that...
...

I don't tune into many new shows during the new season, but I was excited to watch Glee because it looked like a show with some great music and characters. The pilot of Glee recently premiered on FOX and I absolutely loved it. I love that it is a mix of drama, comedy and music and really inspirational and fun to watch. The television show focuses on a high school Glee club and the ups and downs of being in high school. I love that the show focuses on both the lives of the students, the teachers and the bringing together of the Glee Club group. The Glee club is lead by a teacher whose personal life is crumbling, but he still has a passion for teaching and thus inspires not only the Glee club, but the other staff and the entire school. The Glee club members are very diverse and include a snobbish leading lady who everyone hates, the head jock who has a secret passion to sing, an overweight backup singer who yearns to be a star, the class nerd who everyone picks on and a few other...
...

MikeMaroon says "Don't Stop Believing- In Glee" about Glee

If you watched Kris Allen and Adam Lambert duke it out on American Idol on May 19, 2009, then stayed tuned to Fox you might have caught the pilot episode of the next great television comedy-drama, Glee. If you didn't, well, here's what you missed.

The problem with a lot of "dramedys" is they either get too cutesy or too serious, or they have characters that make you say, "who cares?", or they just plain try too hard. Glee is guilty of none of those. Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan and set in a fictional high school (William McKinley High) in Lima, Ohio, Glee focuses on the glee club, usually considered beneath the lowest rung of the high school social ladder.

The show opens with the cheer-leading squad, coached by Sue Sylvester (the always wonderful to watch Jane Lynch) who admonishes her "Cheerios" at the end of their routine with, "You think this is hard? Try being water-boarded! That's hard!". Which is one of the great things about this show. ...
...

I am loving the show with the electic characters and how they all intertwine in each other's live. how the jock got swindled basically into the club and that cheerleading coach, she is going to be great.
Jonathan97202 says "Soon to be Cult Classic" about Glee

It's unfortunate that Fox decided to launch this show as a preview only. Giving us a taste trying to hook us through the long and sometimes dry TV schedule of the summer.

That being said I sincerly hope that this show will not fizzle and fade in the endless vaccum of summer.

Bottom line, this show has POTENTIAL!!!!

Either the simplicity of the vision of this show was on purpose which makes the writers genious, or it was by accident, which in my book still makes them genious! It's so rare for a show to have a instant connection with a broad audience.

The show takes place at a highschool where all the funding goes to the cheerleading team. So a teacher who's first love of teaching happens to also be a love a music has to use his own poket money to save the glee club from failing. The absolute brilliance of this show is the simplicity in it's writing. I think it attempts to build drama however it does it so off the cuff that it has the audience laughing. The comedy...
...
