their stuffed pizza and thin crust is good but not worth the tax they put on it just because of their name.
this is chicago and there are hundreds of pizza places whos pizza does not run small and is not over priced.
there "xl" is the size of most places large.
for this reason i stopped ordering their pizza along time ago and now only order their sandwiches.
untill today, whenever i get the chicken fingers they always forget the bbq sauce so tonight i asked several times explaining that they always forget
when it got to my door of course NO BBQ sauce
im done with this place...

BenKnowsBest says "When friends visit Chicago, this is the pizza we get." about Giordano's - Chicago, IL

Whenever I have friends come into town to visit and I have the chance to take them to have a true Chicago deep dish pizza, this is the place I go. I've only lived here for a year, but in my opinion Giordanos makes the best pizza in Chicago. Actually, I take it back. A place called Pequods makes the best pizza in Chicago, but I've only been there once and it's location isn't as convenient as Giordanos numerous locations. BUT this pizza is I guess second best. Let's pretend I've never had Pequods pizza. Giordanos is totally the best pizza in Chicago! While one of my friends this past time is lactose intolerent and had to get his pizza without cheese (which is kind of unfortunate...), they loved the pizza. I like the way they lay out the ingredients in the pizza too. It's a stuffed pizzas, but they lay out the different ingredients inside the layers of cheese and sauce almost like a jigsaw puzzle so that they fit well together and you get "the perfect bite" almost every time. ...
...

Every time a friend from out of town comes to visit I choose a stuffed pizza place to take them to and it is usually Giordano's. They have good crust, good sauce and a good selection of toppings. Unlike most of the other places they have a lot of veggie options which makes them desireable, but I must say they are a little skimpy on the toppings sometimes. ...

ohmotherofthree says "Quick service at a very busy place" about Giordano's - Chicago, IL

As one reviewer said, this could be considered a tourist trap at the downtown location. I admit that I am one of the tourists who was told "don't leave Chicago without getting pizza from Giordano's." So I did, and I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is not far at all from Michigan Avenue's main business district. We stopped by on a very busy day for carry-out, and I was worried that we would be stuck in line for a long time. The restaurant was full and the counter area was packed. So I was surprised to see how quickly we received our meal. The pizza was good, but much different from what I expected. My kids weren't crazy about the sauce on top, but I enjoyed it very much. It was my only visit there, but I'd be happy to return again.
...

AWESOMEMOM88 says "Good deep dish exists in the suburbs as well." about Giordano's - Chicago, IL

Giordano's has several franchises, throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs and what I really respect is the consistency of quality from one to the other. I know what to expect when I walk into a Giordano's whether it be downtown Chicago, or out in the suburbs by my home. The ingredients are extremely fresh and flavorful. The pizza combo choices are virtually endless, so I encourage folks to mix it up and try new things. You will have to wait, but as Alton Brown is fond of saying "Your patience will be rewarded" The best way to eat at Giordano's is to phone ahead before leaving the house to give them a jump start on creating your pizza (which to do properly is about an hour to hour and a quarter). They have a nice selection of appetizers and salads....I am personally fond of compressi salad, but they also offer a more mainstream fare with deep friend mozzerella sticks, batter dipped mushrooms, onion rings, breaded calamari, ceasar and house salads, and some pretty kick......

shamrockbear says "Fantastic Deep Dish Pizza" about Giordano's - Chicago, IL

Well first, I will preface this review with I am a Chicagoan. Giordano's has been around a long time and the downtown locations have become somewhat of a tourist trap. That being said it's not a bad thing. I think that it has very good deep dish pizza. The crust is decent just average and the protions are large after 2 slices of the large deep dish you will need a nap. The ingriedents seem fresh and plentiful. If you never had deep dish pizza you must try it. If you are not from Chicago and want to try other pizza locations wich I believe better deep dish pizza and are willing to take walk I would look at these. I reccomend Pizzeria Uno close to Giordano's or Baccino's also close to Giordano's I will review them seperate for you. So look at my reveiws. Overall, I think that its decen pizza and if you never tried it before and your not from Chicago I would add this to your list of places to eat at in Chicago. Weekends are busy so be prepared for some long wait times. ...
...

I like to visit local restaurants when I travel and happened to read a good review of this restaurant. Boy, the reviewer was sure right on this one! We went in at lunchtime. They weren't too busy so we got seated right away. They have a lunch special during the week where you can each get your own individual deep dish pizza, so my friends and I didn't have to worry about fighting about what to put on it. After one piece my friends were commenting on being full, but I could have eaten two pizzas by myself they were so yummy! Afterwards, I ordered the tiramisu for dessert. It's hard to find it made right, and theirs just melts in your mouth it's so good. Definitely a have-to try, I will be going back on my next visit to Chicago!...

This place is AWESOME. My son took a friend who lives in Chicago home after visiting him in Grand Rapids & I rode along. We went here for lunch. YUMMY!! My son has now moved to Chicago so hopefully more visits here. I worked in Traverse City MI at time of this visit & had told a co-worker that my son had talked about how good the food was. She used to live in Chicago & I couldn't remember the name of the place. While we were eating our food I grabbed a cell phone & called her. "Hery Laura. I just remembered the name of the pizza place in Chicago." She says "What is it?" I tell her Giordano's "and I'm calling you from there right now!!" She was very jealous that I was in Chicago....

I knew I'd have to get some Chicago style pizza when I visited Chicago last weekend. I mean, really, it would be awful to go that far and then not even be able to say that I tried the local specialty.

Jolie said that Giordano's would be a good bet for Chicago style pizza. Jolie is the Viewpoints Angel, and she lives in Chicago. If anyone ought to know, she should.

The first thing I did after I landed and took the subway into town was walk to Giordano's. This put me there a few (very few) minutes after 11 a.m. Remember though that I went through a time shift, so it was really noon by my internal clock. Also, the airline did not even give out any pretzels or anything, so I was close to famished. I famish pretty easily though.

The Rush Road Giordano's is right in the middle of city, and I took the blue sub to the red and came out at State Street (I think) which is really close to the restaurant. Rush is rather a main road in town, so that makes this really easy. The company has added a lot...
...
