I recently visited the Georgia Aquarium located in Atlanta Ga. The experience is unforgettable. I saw creators that I've only read about. For instance, the seahorses. They was so enchanting. I also got to see fishes from the amazon rivers, and tropics. And who could forget, Niko, the belugas whale. I would definitively encourage anyone who has the time to go and visit. It is fun for all ages. You will not be disappointed.
...

I have been to the Georgia Aquarium twice, both times it was extremely crowded. I enjoyed my time there, don't get me wrong but it was crowded. There should be some kind of cut off point of how many people are allowed inside; especially with all of the little kids running around. There is so much to see and numerous places to go so that's exciting. With unattended kids running around, it takes away from the exhibit. It's definitely the best aquarium I've ever been to. I hope to go back someday, mayde during an "off" time, if there is such a thing at the aquarium.
...

pcp3293 says "Georgia Aquarium Fabulous Experience!" about Georgia Aquarium - Atlanta, GA

We recently visited the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta while my son was here visiting from Spokane. We had a wonderful experience! The "tunnel" was absolutely amazing! It was quite an experience to see the unbelievably large whale sharks so gracefully gliding through the aquarium.

The balugas were very playful and one particular female was quite the ham & had all the young children quite intrigued.

We visited the open pool which contained small sharks and rays that you could touch. The hands on interaction was great and the children all seemed to thoroughly enjoy it & so did the adults!

The river area was fantastic & contained many creatures indigenous to Georgia. The otters were very playful and entertaining.

We walked through the Titanic exhibit & discovered at the end that 2 of our characters survived while one perished.

If you have children or are just a fun-loving adult be sure to see the show- it's sort of like "Nemo" in 3-D.

Before leaving, we purchased the season pass & can't wait...
...

bairdfamily5 says "Nice but really expensive..." about Georgia Aquarium - Atlanta, GA

The Georgia Aquarium is a nice place, but considering it was paid for by a mega rich guy, Bernie Marcus (owner of Home Depot), why do they have to charge so much to get in???

If you are going, make a day of it and get the combo passes for the aquarium and the Coke museum. They are right next to each other since the Coke Museum has been redone.

If you can afford a yearly pass, and will go many times then more power to ya!

There is alot to see and a place where your kids can play on a ship. I really enjoyed it. Go during the week when it is less crowded and go while school is in session if you can very close to the beginning of the year so you won't get stuck in a thousands of kids running amuck.

The most amazing part is the giant window where you look at the whale sharks. It is absolutely beautiful. I could sit there all day, even if I have I do have a small fear that the glass will break and I'll be trying to hold my breath until I reach the top and hopefully avoid being eaten.

I would...
...

I went to the Georgia Aquarium in November of 2008. The price was a little steeper than what i was used to, but was willing to pay it since it was a vacation. We went on a Friday and did not expect it to be as packed as it was. There were so many people and kids running around that it was a little more than I could take. I really couldn't enjoy the marine life as much as I wanted to due to the crowds. The food was over priced, and the seperate shows inside the Aquarium were not included in the price of admission and were not really worth the extra money. I think it would have been more enjoyable if I took my daughter with me. Although, I did enjoy playing in the whales mouth play area/slide.
...

When the Georgia Aquaium opened in 2005 it claimed it was the largest aquarium - with size, number of species, and exhibits - but it also claimed it was the world's most engaging aquarium. Both claims are true, but one rquires effort on your part. The aquarium implements programs to keep itself the largest aquarium with plans to expand and by bringing in new animals every couple months. They do their part with engaging customers by having 4,000 volunteers take classes on their exhibits and walk around the aquarium exhibits asking and answering questions, sharing fun facts, asking them to play conservation games with them and ect. Some people will walk around the aquarium and leave without taking advantage of the engaging resources the aquarium provides, such as the people working and volunteering there. If you want your money's worth from visiting this place you will get it, as long as you don't ignore the people in the blue aquarium shirts wanting to share something with you.
...

I really enjoyed the Georgia Aquarium. My brother took me there when he was here for a visit. The seal life is wonderful. I have reservations about whale sharks in captivity but it was still awesome to see them up close. I have physical disablity and they provided a wheel chair for me. I was really pleased for that! We went there on a week day so the crowd was very lite. Great place for children to enjoy the beauty of the oceans.
...

The Georgia Aquarium is probably the most impressive museum/zoo I've been to in all of my travels. I remember being awed by the Chattanooga Aquarium when I was younger, and I can't imagine how the Georgia one would have blown my mind at that age. I'm an Atlanta native and whenever I feel like relaxing and watching the most amazing creatures on earth, it's not too much trouble to hop on MARTA (the city transportation) and head to the Aquarium. With affordable family memberships and individual tickets, it's no burden on the wallet, and they're constantly adding new exhibits including one on the Titanic in Spring '09! The Aquarium is also an eco-friendly institution, with all of the larger animals being rescued. Sadly, the Beluga whales are down to one because the others couldn't survive their condition (they were rescued from a theme park in Mexico where they sustained severe infections), but they're looking in to getting more. Vetrinary students from the state universities help take care......

Georgia Aquarium is fun for the whole family and worth the trip. However, expect big crowds especially if you plan to attend on the weekends or during a holiday. I suggest trying to pick an off peak time to go if bringing young toddlers or preschoolers who may grow impatient with the crowds....

My husband and I have been to the Georgia Aquarium twice so far, and it is just amazing. From the natural flow of the aquarium, making it easy to navigate to the beauty of each of the displays it is someplace that you want to return to over and over again. Although it can be quite a haul for us, they offer coupons at certain times to make the trip more affordable, not to mention the prices of the year pass arent all that expensive. My 19 month old son was amazed by the displays, lights, colors and activities...and I know he will only become more and more interested in those things the older he gets. It is a fantastic family oriented destination, and it is a great place to take guests that you may have visiting the Atlanta area. Definitly a MUST SEE for everyone and anyone....

Emily0520 says "It's a neat place, but not worth the hype (or money)" about Georgia Aquarium - Atlanta, GA

First things first, the Georgia Acquarium is a neat attraction that really doesn't have a comparison. Afterall, it boasts being the world's largest acquarium. There are many things to see and experience there, which definitely makes it, at the very least, interesting.

I do, however, have several gripes with regard to the acquarium which make me feel like I will never patrionize their business again. For the most part, my complaints about the acquarium fall in line with other popular attractions, but I do not think that they are quite at the level to make it worth the trip. I feel that the cost for everything surrounding the trip to be quite ridiculous. The parking, admission to the acquarium and cost for food/beverages/gifts seem to be quite high. When you visit other popular attractions, you can justify the costs based on the return that you are getting during your visit. The two times that I visited, I spent about 3 hours there and that was with the crowds and revisiting......

I have only been once, and I do not care to go back. There are way too many people and hardly any room to move around. There are no big sharks, which was not good to me. It was way too much money and not enough to see. It may be the biggest building, but I do not think it is the biggest aquarium per se. The aquarium in Chattanooga, Tennessee to me is much better than this one in Atlanta. There is way more to see. There is more room to move. There are actually sharks there. I would not recommend anyone go there if you have already gone to the one in Chattanooga. You will be disappointed. If you have never been, then it would probably be ok.
...
