I got this laptop as a gift a little over two years ago and since I have recieved it, it has given me no problems. I have enjoyed using it and with a wide screen it is fully functional and great for viewing movies and shows because of the large screen. I also love the Windows DVD viewer becaues I watch movies on my computer and even if I take out the DVD, no matter where I stop it, when I put the DVD back into my computer it starts it right where I left it off. I love that because I don't have to remember anything and I don't have to fight with trying to fast forward or rewind or anything like that with my movies. It is also really easy to use other programs, like ITunes and I use my this computer to put music onto my Ipod and I also put pictures from my camera on here. There is nothing that is hard to find or use on this computer and it can hold a lot of things. It was really nice to have all the space because I just graduated from college so it could hold all my work.

The Gateway MA7 is a good laptop computer for the first time buyer because it is very simple to use. It has a great screen in a widescreen format, that is excellent to view at any angle. The ultra bright screen is great in low light conditions, but outside in brighter conditions, you can barely see the screen. Windows Vista operating system was a little "hairy" to get used to at first, but now I love it. It was purchased at Wal-Mart for a "before Christmas" sale price, which was very accomodating at $295. It does have a cd/dvd drive with a cd burner which is a "plus", however a dvd burner would have been great. It has many "one-touch" features on the keyboard like a calculator and volume control, plus many others. The locking scroll feature is a great addition on the built-in mouse. You ca also "double click" the mouse pad instead of having to right or left click. This is a great one-handed feature. It saves time and only takes one finger. Overall it is a great first-time laptop.

I purchased a MA7 Gateway computer and would never suggest getting anything from Best Buy now. I purchased to computer in August 2007. In June 2008 it was having problems. Upon returning to the States I returned to the store I purchased it at in Minnesota. Best Buy Geek Squad sent it out mulitple times for servicing. They changed the mobo, hdd, optical drive twice as well trying to get in to boot up. This happened from the first week in July until mid November. This computer was under a year old. Now this month, March 2009 it was not charging properly. I had an independant company check it out. They told me that the motherboard is bad. This computer is not even two years old! The service I recieved from Best Buy Geek Squad was the worst I have ever encountered. I would not recommend any one ever purchase any products.

Do not buy any computers, laptops, tv from other stores. ONLY BEST BUY!! because best buy has very best service with warranty that will cover your damage and customer abuse while other stores dont. i am very satisfied with my laptop that fit me. no need to get very top quality laptop, choose what is good enough for you....
