I bought a Emachine ET1810 for my grandson , so he could do his homework. It runs Vista by Windows. It has an Intel Celeron processor with 420 @ 1.6GHz. It only has 2 GB of Ram, but that is enough for a twelve year old to do his homework and it can be upgrade later. It has a 32 bit operating system, whatever that means. Okay, it warms up fast and responds quickly and he does alot of multi-tasking on it. It is really, really, low priced and your getting alot for your money. There is a monitor that can be bought separately, tha is also a great deal. The best part of the whole deal is that he isn't on my computer at times when I have something to do. I use his for small jobs during the day when he's at school or sometime just to relax and play a game of hearts. The down side of this is that EMachines doesn't have a great support team and can choose to charge you for certain things that should be free. They also might tell you to try the support at Gateway, who also charges...

Gateway computer is the worst computer on the market today. The internet connection, the mother board, every is awefull. Hell, my computer teacher was raging on the tech support people because they do not know what they are talking about. I recommend not to get the system or some of the computer lineup.

Gateway offers wonderful products and customer service. I have had mine for 4 years at college and never had any problems with them. Even the Sims and 2 expansion packs loaded on it is still running smoothly and fast. They have great customer service! I once accidentally un-installed a videa driver and the customer support person was on the phone with me for 3 hours helping me figure out what happened and giving me instructions on how to fix it. They even offered to send a tech person out for free. Go with Gateway...forget dell. my parents have been through 2 dell's in the time I've had 1 gateway.

I have a gateway P-6832FX. It is an extrodinary gaming laptop for the price. It is at the bottom of the price range (or at least in the gameing laptop market it is), yet it is middle of the road in components. Great machine, but gateway has bad tech support for those who need it....

Not for gaming, but definitley the best computer I have had so far. Lots of space for pictures and great way to write papers, check email and just surf the web in general. Yay for gateway GT5464 Personal Computer!...

So recently my video card decided to die in my computer, and i was pretty pissed i figured id be going threw this HUGE ordeal to get a new card but....I called gateway and the guy said "Oh ill send you a replacement card your still in you 1 year warranty." I was like....seriously thats it?! SERIOUSLY?! but wait....their servers were down your going to have to call back in a few hours. I said thats fine I understand, it happens, i was just so happy that this was so easy to fix. So I call back and tell the next guy the exact same thing, he tells me that Im going to have to reload windows....I say "Well, the previous guy said that all I needed was a new video card and told me to call back, I just want my new video card I dont want to reload windows and lose all my files, etc." and he said "Well sir thats what were going to have to do" and i got kind of mad and said "Well sir, thats not what were going to do I was told that this was going to happen so it needs to happen and now or Im going......

it was ok, but runs slow most of the time. I would not buy another Gateway, especially since they've been bought out by acer....

I own a gateway laptop and I love it. I have had my computer for over a year and have never had a problem. I am on my computer at least once a day. It lets me do whatever it is I need to do. I am not very good with computers but I can navigate with this computer without a problem. I find that this computer is very reliable and I can do whatever I need on it. It is very easy to use and I love working on it. My computer was not at all expensive to purchase so I am amazed that it is so reliable. The work that I mostly do on my computer is simple. I go online for school and surfing the internet. I use my computer to write papers. Where I go to school I can do online classes so I do a lot of work for my classes on my computer. My school uses WebCT for their online classes and this program works great on my computer. I am very happy with the screen on my computer along with the sound. There has never been a time when I have had a problem with my computer. It is hooked up to the internet wirelessly......

I owned a Gateway computer and it worked great at first, then it seemed like it was fix and repair daily. I had the lifetime telephone support and was told that they gave me the wrong restore disk but refused to ever send me the right one and more than one tech told me that had been my trouble all along but they never agreed to correct the problem and did not want to really honor the lifetime support since they were losing money the longer I kept my computer running. I also purchased a gateway for both of my sisters with the same agreement and they eventually tried to force them to buy parts elsewhere so the agreement would not be liable, and they too had loads of trouble with their gateway computers with only tech support teaching you how to fix yourself, never any in home repairs. I stayed on the phone for two days the last time and talked to three different techs who all gave me different answers and never solved my problem, only offered to sell me a new computer, since mine was......

I bought my gateway desktop computer last year with a 3 year warrenty. last month my power supply went out and I had to ship it in for repair. I got it back a week later and 4 days after that my computer blew up. they promised me a new computer the next day. it took my 3 weeks and a lot of complaining to get a tech here to put in the parts needed and they didnt give me a new computer just some parts. it was fixed yesterday so we will see if it keeps working. I do not like being lied to or blew off....

I just want to say Kudos to Gateway for their desktop computers, I purchased mine nearly 15 years ago and its still going, only having to have been worked on one time in those years, its like a timex,it takes a licking and keeps on ticking, i am thrilled with its performance, I have upgraded the software myself and it was simple. I would suggest this product to anyone who wants a pc that will last for years to come ....

This is the first computer I ever ordered on line. I have to say this Gateway was everything I expected and more. I got everything I paid for and they added some features for free I didn't expect.

Having this computer for a couple of years now, makes me highly recommend it. I only had the need for service once, but received prompt and efficient care.

This computer is used for several hours daily and is rarely turned off. It has been very reliable for us.

I purchased a laptop from Gateway. It did not work properly from day one. I thought it was in part my inexperience with laptops.I was wrong.I became very experienced at sitting on the phone with tech support. They never did repair the problems. I ended up with a $1500.00 paper weight. I then purchased a Dell laptop. They are the best!
