I grew up using gas ovens/stoves. During my young adulthood I was forced to use Electric ranges/ovens and it as difficult to get the food to cook evenly. I now own my own home and purchased a gas oven/stove and it works great. No burnt bottom of food while still frozen in middle....

There is nothing better than a quality gas range. When cooking on the top burners you are always in control of the heat. Flat top electric stoves may be easier to clean, but they are much more difficult to regulate the heat with. Gas stoves are much more economical as well....

Reference: GE Profile Double Oven-Duel Fuel Convection. Model J2B918SEK1SS.

When it came time to replace our electric stand alone oven with cook top, duel fuel was the choice. I can say with assurance that I have not been disappointed. It is definitely the way to go.

Instant gas BTU cooking surfaces is good, and a convectioin oven is great in use. Unit has been reliable with no issue to date.

Cook surface, as with all gas tops, requires regular cleaning to maintain neat look. Grates are easily moved and replaced for cleaning.

I would recommend.

...

I personally prefer to use an electric range rather than a gas range. I've had so many bad experiences with gas that I have just become very turned off by them. My son burnt himself when he was just tall enough to see the blue flame. He thought it was pretty. I find it more difficult to regulate the temperature with gas, but that cold just be me. I especially prefer the flattop electric range that I have now. Its easy to cook on, easy to clean and you can always tell when it is still hot.
...

I have tried several of both & I have to go with the electric! My parents bought their first electric stove (a GE) in the mid 60's & when I bought their house from them in 1989 the stove went with the house. When I sold that house in 1998 the stove went with the house and was still going strong! (It was avocado! LOL) I now have a GE porcelain top stove & am very pleased with it also. There are no pilot lights to go out, no drip trays to absorb grease & bacteria & it is much easier to clean!...

LaurieM says "Ranges - Gas or Electric? It's all in what one prefers." about Gas Ranges vs. Electric Ranges. What is the difference?

At some point in most of our lives, we will have the need to purchase a new range/oven. One of the most important decisions that will have to be made is whether to purchase a gas or an electric one. Not too long ago, I was faced with this decision. After thorough research, my final decision was to purchase a gas range. We all have different needs and wants therefore my decision may not be the same one as yours will be. I hope that this comparison of the two will help you make a more informed decision as to what will work best for your household.
Gas Ranges

From the research that I did and past experience, I found that gas ranges have a much higher quality of cooking because the heat is more even and controllable. This fact alone was enough for me to make the decision to go with gas. I had an electric stove in the past and waiting for the coils to heat up and cool off was definitely inconvenient. I can't tell you how many times I burned food with our old electric stove. Modern gas ranges...
...
