I got a great deal on Garnier Fructis Style Full Control Hairspray, at our local CVS store. It was $2.99 with a $2 rewards coupon for a future purchase. I bought milk, which I always do there, so the hairspray worked out at 99 cents.

It is a tall, thin can, 8.25 ounces, and is the lime green, that we associate with Fructis. The spray top has a good angle, which makes it easy to spray. The fragrance is the same as the shampoo and conditioner. I do love the citrus smell.

My hair always needs lots of spray, as I have it in a French pleat, with curls on the top. This hairspray holds firm. I spray my hair three or four times so it doesn't move. This hairspray achieves that.

When it was time to wash my hair, I did have to give it a good brushing, to remove the hairspray. However, I have the same problem with every spray I use. I just use too much.

After washing and conditioning my hair it was fine again.

Final thoughts

If I can pick Fructis hairspray up for $2 or less,...

I love this spray. I pretty much only bother with hairspray when my hair is completely out, otherwise it's gel or something else, and this is my go-to bottle. I HATE crunchy overdone hair, and Ii'm willing to miss a function to rewash rather than deal with it.

I don't go crazy with the trigger so my hair doesn't get hard and it's only been crunchy one time, but I freely admit user error on my end that day. The hold lasts all day, and it smells good.

Garnier Full Control Flexible Hold Strong is good stuff. Maybe it's all in how you use it ...

If you just spray a small amount of this hairspray on your hair, it doesn't seem to hold. If you spray a little more on your hair it become stiff and crunchy.

This hairspray makes my hair a little too stiff. I prefer a more flexible hold. The scent is pleasant and not overwhelming.

I bought this because the hair spray that I used to buy doesn't exist anymore. I bought this thinking it was comperable. It left my hair feeling sticky and waxy. In the evening i would have these white flakes on my hair. I only spray the front top of my hair, not all over. And no, it is not dandruff. I threw more then 3/4 away because I can't stand the feel of it on my hair....
