The Garmin Nuvi 350 has been such a wonderful addition to our vacations!! It has a some what slow startup (in my opinion, but I'm a little impatient) but once it's ready to go it's FABULOUS!! The unit is very good about finding the most direct route using major roadways, but is also able to get you to a direction from the middle of no where (I've been "rescued" by it more than once). It offers some outstanding features like - restaurant finder... imagine this ... you are driving along and suddenly start to feel hungry, not only will it give you a list of local restaurants, but it will break it down by type (American, Mexican, Asian...) and will tell you how far each is an in what direction before you "select" it to see additional details. It gives you the address and phone number, and if you have a Bluetooth compatible phone it will dial the number for you and provide "speaker phone" functionality for you. You can also look up locations by name (or by ANY word in their name)...
...

I hate being lost so my husband gave me the Nuvi for Christmas. It has helped me on many occasions. I never go on a trip or anywhere new without it. The small size makes it very portable, I've even used it when walking in an unfamiliar downtown to look for a restaurant or store. It's generally superior to online mapping sites, especially since I can add stops to a trip or look for something in the moment that I can't do with an online service.
...

BookStar2203 says "A basic GPS that's solid for the money" about Garmin - Nuvi 350

I purchased this GPS for my wife for Christmas and it's been great for her. It speaks the name of the road as you approach, telling you to make a left or a right, so you don't have to always look at the screen. It's not the best I've seen as far as knowing routes and if you're familiar with an area it doesn't always take you the quickest or even easiest way. I've started using it a bit myself, and for my work it would be excellent to have the ablitly to add multiple points on a route. But for the money, it hasn't failed us yet. It's not the most expensive or cheapest, so it's really the perfect middle of the road GPS. The only real drawback is the battery life is poor. It needs to be in the charger most of the time, which can be a hassle if you also use the cigarette lighter for charging. My other complaint is it can take an extremely long time to acquire a satelittle, even when you are in a city, which is frustrating if you turn it on when lost. Again, it's a good product overall, without...
...

I recieved the Garmin Nuvi 350 as a christmas present last year and I can tell you after having used the unit for more than a year I love it. I use it when we are driving, camping, hunting, and boating. The unit is very attractive looking and is small for a gps which I like because it doesnt take up too much windshield real estate. I personally opted to purchase the non-skid dash mount for this unit because of how far the windshield was from me in my truck. This unit has gotten me to the places I needed to be without too much out of the way driving it seems. I also use its memory to store good fishing spots, hunting locations, camp locations etc. I would also note that for a more memory capable selection of items, I would use a sd card in the provided slot for POI's and the like. POI's are a great way to have things on the map when you need them. For instance I have all the wal-marts in the US on there so when i need to find one while driving, it automatically pops up for me. Overall this...
...

I do a lot of playdates for my kids and got so tired of mapquesting everything, writing down directions and trying to read them while driving. We invested in the Garmin Nuvi 350 after much research. Its a wondeful GPS! It has text to speech, offers location arrival time, length of distance before turning, different cars to display and even offers male and female voices! It has a lot of the "extras" without paying the price. The only complaint I have is that the holder than you stick on your windshield constantly falls off. Sometimes while driving down the road, the whole thing will fall. While this would not detere me from purchasing this product again, its just a pain. I am sure there is a way to better secure it, I just havent discovered it yet! In any case, I am extremely happy with this product. It has guided me in and out of so many places. You can also search for businesses and look up the address and phone number. For example if you want to order a pizz on...
...

I walked into Sears on the advice of a friends purchase the night before, and walked out a very happy man. I spent a little over 200 bucks for two GPS units, one being the Garmin NUVI 350 which is fast and accurate, and a Canon digital camera. Display model clearance prices were incredible. I also happened to walk past the tools section and couldn't help but notice all the sale prices on table saws that I have wanted to purchase for the last 6 months but couldn't afford at Lowes. Sears you rock. Garmin YOU rock. I will type in Sears into the saved locations and return more often. Thanks guys. ...

Customeright says "I Once Was Lost, But Now Am Found. My GPS, How Sweet!" about Garmin - Nuvi 350

Back in the good ole' days out of college - no mortgage, no family. When 100% of my post-bar-tab take-home pay was disposable, I would have gladly plunked down the dough for a GPS. But one day I realized how much money I'd been wasting on these unnecessary electronics purchases. I considered whether the thing I wanted actually helped me in some way, or if it was just another thing to show off to friends. At the time, had I lost my job and my landlord not taken old digital cameras or used PDA's for rent, I'd have been in big trouble. So somehow or another, I saw the error of my ways and I came to my senses. I held off on rabid consumer electronics purchases, and I turned over a new leaf....... oh yeah, I also got married. Goodbye cool gadgets, hello another shoe rack in the closet.

So basically, I had been putting off buying a portable GPS system. I mean, it's not that I needed one; I'm a guy - guys don't get lost. But just in case I ever were lost, hypothetically speaking, I thought a...
...

I bought a Garmin Nuvi 350 last summer before going on vacation in Memphis. After renaming the unit Lola in honor of the Robin Williams movie "RV," we were off on a great adventure. We used Lola to find one of the best BBQ restaurants in Memphis which we would have never found without a GPS as it was in an industrial park area. I have found that I use it all of the time at home, whether it is just the map function to help me find out what street is coming up next--especially at night--or if I am using it to find a new location. I have found that I am more adventurous in looking for new places when I have Lola plugged in. I like the small size and that it is compact enough for me to throw it in my purse. I have also used it when I travel, it's great to plug into a rental car and just head off to my next destination. I think the price is great and I don't need as many of the bells and whistles that are available on some of the fancier models. It was a great entry level GPS......

The Garmin Nuvi 350 was great when we first bought it - and is still a good model today - it gets us from place to place with an easily readable display and excellent choices for voices. It came preloaded with extras that we never use - an MP3 Player and language dictionary... only really good if you're planning to travel away from home...
What I do love about the Garmin platform is that it is integrated with shopping, lodging, community places and more. I love being able to find a bank or a post office when I'm out of town or just scan for places to see and things to do as we drive along the interstates...
WHat I would upgrade for... voice commands, real time overhead signs on highways and integrated traffic management capabilities. The one other thing I would love to see is realistic distances over time (including the potential lights) and also a pop-up of the speed limit for any given road.
...
