This GE "super capacity" electric dryer is the worst dryer I've ever had. I have always gotten hand-me-down washer and dryers from other family members. But when my fiance and I moved into our new home, we bought the GE set. I've had dryers that were over 10 years old that dried clothes faster. Its terrible. You can only put about half the load from the washer into the dryer, and depending on what you're drying, it can take anywhere from one and half to two full cycles to finally get them dry. Wish I hadn't wasted my money, and kept the old Kenmore set.

Where do I start about GE's Large Capacity Dryer. Well, I thought it was useful for me being so large inside to hold more clothing, but I was wrong. While, it does hold quite a bit of clothing loads, it just is not capable of handling a large dryer load in a regular cycle. I tested it actually and put a larger than normal load in it and it took longer to dry it. Plus, within one month we had a power surge in our neighborhood and the thermostat went out in it. It was brand new and we only used it twice a week! I was very disappointed in the fact that it already had issues with it in that short amount of time. We did call customer service and they did send someone out to replace the part, but now it has me wondering when is the next time it will go out like this. The part they replaced was over $50. So, I am now thinking of selling this brand new dryer and getting a different brand altogether. GE makes some great appliances and maybe they are not for me and my family.

I am a mothter of 4 children and 7 grandchildren . I'm always takeing care of some one if not my husband than a grandchild or two So my GE Super capacity dryer is going all the time. I have had my GE super capacity dryer for 6 years and I have not had one problem with it. if some onewant a great dryer than I would suggest them to buy a GE ssuper capacity Electric Dryer. When I buy aan another dryer you can bet It will by a GE Super Capacity Electric Dryer it holds extra large loads of clothes and dry them beautifully it is so easy to load that my 9 years old grandchild likes to help with the laudry and you know you can't get them to hardy do anything. GE Super Capacity Electric Dryer is one the best dryers for me out on the market GE Super capacity Dryer is so easy that my husband uses it to warm his clothes in the moring. So if you want a great dryer than I will tell you to go and get a GE Super Capacity Electric Dryer.

I HAVE A GE SUPER DRYER I WOULD BE SAD IF IT WENT OUT AND QUIT WORKING

IT HAS SEVERAL SETTINGS , SO MY CLOTHES DONT GET TO HOT ICAN EVEN USE THE LOW SETTING TO DE WRINLLE THE CLOTHES

"OK, so the nickname doesn't totally match. I've had this dryer for 6 yrs and it has been great. No wrinkles on the clothing if you remove them right away and it has a wrinkle mode if you can't get them right away. It also has a 15 min dewrinkle cycle that works great. Mine has the electronic board with push sensors and they are cracking. I hear the board is expensive, so I'll probably get a new machine when it goes, glad they don't have that anymore. I adore the fact it tells you how long before the load will be dry, you can plan your other things around that and know exactly when the clothes will be finished. After 6 yrs, I think the thermostat is blown because the dryer vent wasn't cleaned regularly enough. It was pretty clogged. The lint filter lets too much get by into the vent on the model I have, but I think most dryers have a bit of that problem. One of those hindsight things-I would have made sure everyone cleaned the vent after each use to try and avoid that, but the trap just...

i just got this dryer 3 months ago and i am in love. the door also opens down instead of swinging open which helps due to i have a mobile home and not alot of room.. i would suggest a ge dryer to all my friends and family. it dries large loads very well in short amount of time.

The GE dryer is a match for the washer. It dries large loads well, is quiet and simple to use. Again, no bells and whistles here, just dries clothes.

Purchased this dryer about six months ago, replacing an 18 year old one. Have been very impressed with how much quicker the clothes dry. Also very roomy...can handle a comforter easily.

My GE 7.0 Dryer is gas, not electric. It was purchased from Lowes. We were in need of a propane dryer that could be left vented. The sale person assured us that this dryer could and would meet our requirements. The GAS dryer can not be left vented.

We are otherwise happy with this dryer. The Winkle free cycle works and is wonderful.

I did hours and hours of research before deciding to buy the GE 7.0 Cu. Ft. Super Capacity Electric Dryer with 20 different settings and a really nifty drying rack for sweaters and tennis shoes.

It is incredibly quiet! I had to check to see if it was still running. It has an alarm, but I turned it off. I love that I have the option to use the alarm.

It has a moisture sensor that stops the drying process once the clothes are dry! Hurray! Less energy use!

Initially, I thought that having a LCD to indicate the time remaining for drying would be technical overkill. But, I have found that I really like knowing how much more time is needed to reach the point that the moisture sensor anticipates that the load will be dry.

The G.E. 7.0 has dry cleaning, antibacterial, and anti-wrinkle functions too. I also love how I can control if I want the clothes to be dry, very dry, or a little wet. It has wide range of drying functions for thick towels to very very delicate items as well.

I'm surprised more reviewers here haven't taken advantage of Home Depot's great pricing on GE washers and dryers.

This model # DHDSR46EEWW, I purchased at the same time I bought my washer at Home Depot. While I gave the washer some fairly high praise in its separate review, I've really got to raise the bar for this extremely efficient dryer from GE. (This particular model is available only at Home Depot, for reasons unknown to me.)

The stainless drum in the machine is enormous. That's a good thing for my household, especially in the winter when very heavy clothing is frequently in the laundry. It handles these clothes with ease. You've just gotta love that.

More importantly - and this blew my mind - this dryer dries in literally half the time of our old Tappan, on medium heat settings. I wouldn't have thought this possible. On the GE dryer, there's an option for 'easy care' medium heat and "less dry" along the cycle path. I can place a super large load in just on these exact settings, and...
