I have a kitchen full of 6-year-old appliances, all Jenn-Air, Maytag and Whirlpool. Only two have functioned well, and the GE Profile Microwave is one of them! It's great. Two tiny complaints, as with all stainless steel it's difficult to keep smudge free and seems to be a bit scratched. Also, was difficult to find replacement light bulbs at first. Not carried in stores, but got a special order at an appliance parts distributor. First one cost $35!! On subsequent visits, they charged me a more normal $4 to $6.

I've had to replace this machine twice through the manufacturer's warranty and GE still gave me a very hard time about swapping out for new! The Profile spent more time not working than working. It was noisy and downright scary! The biggest problem wasn't so much the Profile but GE and their unwillingness to provide customer service. Please don't waste your time on this appliance. Your family will thank you!

I love my GE Profile microwave. There are so many things I do with it from cooking breakfast to cooking dinner and even making dessert. Oatmeal is healthy but I cant be bothered with cooking it on the stove. I pour some in a bowl, add blueberries and skim milk, then have an extremely healthy breakfast. I love all the different settings to defrost meat when I have forgotten to do so before dinnertime. There are so many different things I love about this microwave that I cannot imagine life without it....

The GE Profile microwave JVM1790 is a good microwave haven't yet had a issue, but my brand is bosch and whirlpool, just not many styles i like that they come in. it's a little pricey but depending on usage it'll last...

MY GE MICROWAVE HAS GOT TO BE THE EASIEST TO OPERATE. THE KIDS CAN DO IT BECAUSE IT IS EASY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND. IT IS SAFE. AND VERY INEXPENSIVE. I HAVE HAD MINE FOR OVER 6 YEARS AND IT IS STILL LIKE NEW. I COOK, BAKE, REHEAT, MAKE POPCORN WHICH THE SETTING IS PERFECT FOR. NOT HARDLY ANY SEEDS IN THE BAG BECAUSE IT POPS SO WELL. IT'S A GOOD STARTER AND DOESN'T TAKE UP A LOT OF SPACE.

The GE Profile microwave is one of the best I have ever owned. It has so many features, defrost, cooking level, express cook buttons, reheat and they all work the way they are supposed to. The fact that I see this microwave in so many homes is a testamony as to how good this unit is....

GE Microwave -Profile JVM1790 I have tried other GE prodects and was on happy but I did try again. What a mistake that was. They just do not hold up. Many years ago there were better but in the last 30 years they have gone down hill. And it is not just me I have had friends and family have the same problem also....

We got this microwave as a replacement for a brand new model by Jen-Air that never worked and had parts on "permanent backorder".

In re-modeling our very small kitchen we needed a multi-taker, combination Micro hood with convection oven. This unit fit the bill nicely, and has impressed us ever since.

The fan has 3 speeds and can really move the air to the outside vent. No more setting off the smoke detectors while sautéing onions!!! It is not nearly as loud as other fans, but it is not whisper quite either.

The surface light is nice and bright in "High", you can actually see with it on!!! The "Low" setting is only good for a nightlight.

But what I really love about this model is the Space!!! It comes with 2 racks for the convection setting that span the width of the oven rather than being a holder that fits over the rotating turntable. You can fit 2 13x9 inch pans into the oven and the convection works great. It doubled as a second oven at Thanksgiving!
