I do enjoy my new GE Electric Range. It is much easier to clean than the standard electric ranges with the burners. My burners would always burn out and food would drop down the crevice. But this new ceramic top is so much nicer. This is a very nice and modern looking range at a very moderate price. I chose the white color to match my refrigerator and it looks awesome. The range has a ceramic top with 4 radiant burners, 2 large ones and 2 small ones. The oven is large with plenty of room to cook a Thanksgiving turkey or multiple dishes. Under the oven is a pull out drawer where you can store pots, pans or other items.

I like the hot burner surface feature also. The red light stays on until the range has cooled. I just wish the surface was a bit easier to clean. The top does not look new anymore. But other than that I would recommend this range to anyone. I enjoy mine very much.
...

dartanian says "Quality control is wanting and the cooktop is not durable!" about GE Electric Kitchen Range, Model JBS55

This GE JBS55 is nicely styled and a relative bargain but it takes more than a pretty face and a decent price when it comes to quality control, durability and standing up to the task at hand.

The first one delivered by Lowes had unacceptable cosmetic scalloping in the metal on the top rolled edge. It was covered with lots of white finish but you can't hide poor craftsmanship and weak quality control with paint. The second one was better but still not as good as it should be, so whomever is responsible for letting these pass like this either is looking the other way or has orders from the top that say something like, 'Hey, it's good enough, no one will notice."

That aside, the real troubling issue with this appliance is the ceramic cooktop. The very first time I used one of the burners the finish stuck to the enamel bottomed pan and actually chipped off - just one week after my brand new range had arrived! This is also unacceptable since the owners manual makes no reference to this...
...

I love my GE Electric Kitchen Range. It cleans nice and easily. It cooks evenly and cooks things in a timely manner. However, the only drawback I found is it is easy to crack the glass surface. I am not sure I would buy another glass top stove.
...

I inherited this range when we bought our new house. This thing looks great before you actually cook on it. Once that first meal is cooked it gets increasingly hard to keep clean. I love that it has the warming burner in the center but find that it is rather useless if you are using a large pot on any of the other burners. I love the convection oven feature that allows everything to bake a little more quickly and evenly. I also love that the oven is so roomy compared to my old one. I hate the amount of time that it takes for the range to cool off so that you can clean it. I also hate that it stays so hot after you shut it off. My oldest daughter and I have actually burned ourselves as we are cleaning up after dinner just because it stayed so hot. Although I have to admit I hands down prefer a gas range anyway, I have a terrible time cooking anything on this one that doesn't end up burnt. ...

I pulled a quick one on my husband when we bought a new refrigerator. I chose a black model and used this to angle to get away with adding a new kitchen range with a ceramic top to the bill. I had already decided that when my range needed replacing, that I would go with a ceramic top model. They look nice, neat and modern! We browsed the store while waiting on our receipt and noticed that the range was on sale. This was the icing on the cake as far as I was concerned and sweet talked my hubby into getting it. The range I fell in love with was the GE Electric Kitchen Range Model No. JBS55.

GE Electric Kitchen Range Model JBS55

This is a very nice and modern looking range at a very moderate price.
