This is a great buy for the $ it works well and is fairly quiet. I use the delayed wash on it as well. According to the reviews it doesn't last that long. So we did purchase the extended warranty. This added approx $80.00 to the price but, still was cheaper than other models.
...

We purchased our Frigidaire dishwasher on the clearance rack at Lowe's a year or so ago. The only problem we've had with it in the two years we've had it is that the water pump went out a year ago. If you're lucky enough to have a handy husband like I do, it's an inexpensive ($35) fix. I don't know what a plumber would charge, though.

We are a family of four. I run at least one load of dishes a day, sometimes two. The capacity could be a bit larger, but I knew when I bought it that I was getting the budget model. A couple of things I've learned though:

One: You need to make sure that your water heater is set at a minimum of 120 degrees or the water isn't hot enough to clean your load.

Two: You must clean the screen every few months. This is easy to do. Just unsrew the washing arm at the bottom of the machine, take out the large holed filter, take off the large screen, and clean out the cavity underneath. Then replace everything in the reverse order. This will keep the nasty deposits...
...

donnaseefee says "Only lasted 4 years of family use" about Frigidaire Dishwasher Built-in FDB1050RE

This Frigidaire dishwasher came already installed with the double wide home that was purchased in June 1998. I started using the dishwasher for a large family up to sometimes 3 times a day. At first the dishwasher was quiet and cleaned well. Then it began to leave the dishes dirty. I tried changing from powder soap to gel soap. Then I attempted to clean everything inside even taking all the components apart and cleaning them. I then used household methods to make the dishwasher work more efficiently and leave less dirt. I tried bleach, vinegar and other suggested tips to improve the workability of this machine.I replaced the dishwasher in Dec of 2001 knowing that I would have to pay a little more for a better unit. If price is the only factor in your decision for a dishwasher, then Fridgidaire is your best bet. If you want something to hold up for many years, then I would suggest paying a little more for durability.
...

lpolzin23 says "The FDB1050RE is a disappointment" about Frigidaire Dishwasher Built-in FDB1050RE

I moved to a new house a year ago and this dishwasher was there. I had a frigidaire built in at my old house so I didn't think much about it. I now wish I would have ripped out my old one and brought it with me! For whatever reason, the way this one is designed is not as useful. The rack design doesn't lend itself to filling it with dishes. On the top rack, there is not enough space to put in bowls and if I try to put a bowl in each slot they are so close together they don't get clean. That means I have to skip a slot and that means less dishes getting cleaned. I have a large family and we make lots of dirty dishes. Another annoyances is the start button. I fill up the dishwasher, hit the start button and nothing happens. I check to make sure the door is securely shut, and it is. I twirl the selection dial and try again. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I miss the days of being able to hit the start button and actually having my dishwasher start. I can't wait until I have the funds...
...

GoBuckeyes01 says "Excellent Value " about Frigidaire Dishwasher Built-in FDB1050RE

This Frigidaire dishwasher is an excellent value! It has just the right number of options. My favorites are the sanitizing wash and the economy wash. The delayed start is a nice feature. You can delay the start by 2-4 hours. The buttons are almost flush against the face of the dishwasher. They are raised just slightly. A light push of a button, and it lights up to indicate that the button has been activated. I prefer the manual buttons to the digital type, fewer things to go wrong with the dishwasher.

The dishwasher getst the dishes very clean, even when the food is baked on. I don't have to prerinse or scrape anything. I think it's an excellent product for the money!
...

tkhf99 says "major control panel issues that were NEVER resolved" about Frigidaire Dishwasher Built-in FDB1050RE

This dishwasher came with the brand new house we bought and the control panel went out within a month. They replaced the first control panel with a new one and that one lasted about 3 months. We double checked the 3rd control panel to make sure it was not the same lot number or anything and I was assured by the repairman that it was different. This one lasted almost 6 months and then broke again. At the end of almost a year, I was on my 4 control panel and was very frustrated. Frigidaire never did admit there was an issue with the control panels although the repairman said that he had been doing quite a few of these type of repairs. Frigidaire did give me a refund but would only replace the exact same model. I took the refund, did a little research and spent a little more money for a Whirlpool....
