Frank Perretti, Piercing the Darkness is a christian author that writes about an unholy evil that would want to destroy the characters portrayed in the book. I read this book and I could not put it down. I read this book in such a short time which was satisfying and keeps you at the edge of your feet. I don' t know if you like reading religious material, but I can admit that you would not be let down in any way. Frank Perretti has a vivid imagination and is well able to write a book which has so much punch to it. Please feel free to purchase this book. You can find the book I think at almost any book store under religious section of the store. If you like Stephen King, I will be honest; this author is similar to Stephen, but with the knowledge of religious imagination. Frank is a well known author who has strong points in his book and some of it seems like dejavu like you have actually been through some of the things written in the book. It is almost like having a dose...

The "Darkness" books were a loaner from my pastor right after college. He had several copies of the set, which he usually did nit get back. They were mesmerizing, and I love how Peretti describes each and every character and scene. I felt as if I was in the basement of the building with the Demons myself smelling the sulfur. The books are captivating in that I could not stop reading because I knew I would miss something. I often read through the night, and it was well worth it.

Frank Peretti's The Prophet, Piercing the Darkness, and This Present Darkness give insight into battles that occur all around us all the time. His characters are realistic and his plots pull me into the story. I highly recommend his books for anyone wanting to better understand the place angels and demons have in this world....

These are good books - certainly worth the read for anyone: even if not a Christian. The author has a talent for keeping you interested. My personal favorite of the three is "Piercing the Darkness" simply because it weives in the frightening truth of cultic manipulation, and how difficult it is for someone to get out of it. Another author worth the read who combines these types of things and has a similar "cinematic" style of writing as Mr. Peretti is Justyn James....

I have just read Frank Peretti's The Prophet. It was the only book of his I haven't read, and would read over and over again. The Prophet really speaks thoroughly on our lives, just like his other books. It's a book that you just can't put down. It's over the top, just like I expected it to be. Was not disappointed. You won't either. All of his books are a must read. I recommend it. I acually suggest, if you haven't read any of his books. You should. You will be just as impressed, and enthused as I am. I am looking out for more of his stuff. I can't wait. All a must read....

Frank Peretti not only writes a great story but he incorporates everyday life as a Christ follower. His stories not only keep you reading but feed our souls with what we crave, relationship with Jesus Christ. He is one of the best authors! I read anything of his I can get my hands on....

So far I've only read This Present Darkness but I'm looking forward to the other two. This book is the best read I've had in years. I'm not an avid reader but this one really caught my interest. It sucked you right in from the beginning.. it was gripping. Makes you think hard on the power of the principalities that we don't see but the Bible makes much mention about. It was eye-opening and kept my wheels turning through the spiral to the end.

I remember reading the books when they originally were published. I was in my early twenties and the books were life changing. We past the books around among us friends. We were book clubbing before it was popular with this book. We now understood why the bible talks about the spriit of the man. Once you read the books you should start look at the spirit of the person (good or bad) and not the person. I have been recommending this book to individuals for years, just did last week....

This Present Darkness and Piercing The Darkness are "edge of your seat" reads. Two of the best mystery-suspense novels I have ever read. They are eye opening without being preachy. Really made me see the relationship between the natural and spiritual world in a whole new way. Frank Peretti is my favorite author. He paints images with his words. I think these books would make fantastic movies....
