Nice car and great when you need a truck to haul something. Only drawback is the hard cover over the bed is very heavy. Ford Explorer Sport Trac is very comfortable to ride in....

We have a 2006, Ford Explorer. We bought it last year after totaling or mountaineer, while on vacation, 600 miles away from home. We had to buy a new car to get home. I am so glad we chose the explorer. It has godd gas mileage, plenty of room, there is a heater and air conditioner for the back seat, with thier own controls. The hatchback has two small enclosed trunks, great for transporting birthday cake and cassaroles, holding the first aid box and flares. The kids have plenty of leg room. The console is kind of small, but the dash is a great size for my husbands fire safety light. It only seats five people, I wish it had a third row of seats....

Although I've had a few worrisome months with the price of gas topping $4 here in Ohio, it's now down to $1.62 and I love my Ford Explorer again! Especially now that it's cold, snowy, icy, blustering outside. It hauls me to and from work, shopping, carpooling kids. It's warm, easy to drive, has great traction. Sits outdoors 24/7 and always starts like a charm....

auggies says "Best SUV - Affordable - Comfortable - and Reliable!" about Ford Explorer - 2006

After looking at many different SUVs we stopped into the Ford dealership to look at the Ford Escape. We test drove it and realized that vehicle was too small for our family. The salesman showed us the Ford Explorer with a third row seating. With two very active teenagers we knew we wanted a vehicle that would fit them comfortable (why we upgraded from a van to an SUV) and have additional room for their friends. The first time we used the third row seating was bringing 5 teenagers to a concert. On the way home one of the biggest teenagers kept commenting on how comfortable the back seat was. The next day at school he was bragging to all his friends that he wanted an SUV like my daughter's (insert her name here) mom.

Our Ford has the reverse beeping alarm when something is behind your vechile while you're backing up. Although we don't have any small kids who we need to worry about, I have found it to be very useful. I love it when we're backing up in a tight fitting parking...
...

This is the second Explorer xlt i have owned I had my last one for 10 years. The 2006 model is very nice and comfortable. It handles very well in the snow. The one thing that does bother me is that in the 2006 model the shifter is on the floor instead of on the steering wheel like on my old one, this seems to make the front leg room a little cramped....

We went in search of a new truck. We notice how the prices had sky rocketed in the last few years. Our saleman took us to look at Certified Ford vehicles. Vehicles that pass stingent testing and must have low mileage. We are so pleased with this vehicles. We got a good price and a full warranty.

We have taken several long trips and it is so comfortable. It has the lumbar supports as well as leather seats.

The leather seats are such a breeze to keep clean especially with animals.

The power steering makes parking easier than our F150 truck. This SUV turns on a dime.

So pleased and will stay with this vehicle.

...

LD0017 says "Everything I wanted in a vehicle with safety to boot!" about Ford Explorer - 2006

I shopped every SUV and crossover out there before settling on my Explorer XLT. After adding leather seats and heated seats, I had a car that looked like my car! It wasnt until I hit a deer head on doing 60mph that I really came to appreciate my Explorer. While the front end was "toast" (headlights lighting the night sky but not the road) I was able to drive it home and was completely unhurt!!

My gas mileage has been great for a midsize SUV. Hwy miles approach 24mpg and daily driving is over 20mpg. The car is easy to drive and comfortable for 4 large adults plus luggage, dogs, or whatever I've found at the antique store. The sound system is great too and with the option of 6 cds, I can program a whole trip worth of music.

I want a car that I can get in and not have to worry about getting from point A to B since I live in the country where seasons are extreme and being stranded on the side of the road could be a lonely experience with no cell phone coverage. Winter driving in...
...
